ETS and AP

It seems there are starting to be a lot of people looking for information on what map to use with the ETS intake. I just ordered the AP and hope it will be in by the end of the week.
I did call Cobb Plano and they said I should try out the injen intake map and monitor LTFT and make sure it is between -8 and +8. Then make sure to monitor knock at WOT. They said knock at normal shifting will be seen as long as it is minimal that is normal. They also said just to make sure target boost is within range.
I was thinking that it would be closer to the SF intake map? I would just like to get as much information together so we can see what works best and what doesn't. I would rather have a healthy running car so if I cannot get the ETS and Cobb working well together I will just sell the ETS and get a supported intake.

I would talk to the guys at English Racing, they are pro tuners for Cobb and they might have a custom map made to work with our intake.

The SF maps would be fairly compatible with the ETS intake since they both retain the stock MAF housing with an open element air filter.

Ouch, you may as well just get a custom dyno protune for that pricetag.

Yeah that's what I was thinking! I do have the stock intake I could put back on in the mean time if the ETS does not like any of the ots maps.

Try the SF map and watch your boost, knock, and fuel trims. If those stay inline then you're good to go.

Sounds like he's selling the ETS intake and getting Cobb's SF intake kit instead.

I will know by this week for sure since the Cobb was shipped should be here Friday or saturday. I will try the SF map first. If that doesn't work I will be picking up a Cobb SF and Cobb inlet and have to sell the ETS.

The only difference between the Cobb and the ETS seem to be the heat shield, does the heat shield really help that much?

Kracka, any thoughts for texas heat with running the Cobb intake without a heat shield?

AP came today so I will hook it up and do some data logging after work. Does anyone know if the AP comes with the newest maps and software out of the box or will I need to hook up to the computer first?

AP was up to date. I hooked it up to the computer first just to be safe. Then I went out and data logged. I started off just light driving around town. The logs looked great only rarely would I get a knock sum of 1 or 2 every once on a while and 2 was very rare. The LTFT stayed almost always at 0 but on some hard runs it got into the -3's. I started feeling more comfortable after a few good logs so I did a few WOT 3rd gear runs. I haven't up loaded my newest logs so I will share that when I get them uploaded. I did notice that in my one prior 3rd gear pull I only reached 19psi on boost. I will have to see if I am any closer to target boost of 23.5.
