I love it how people actually think the viii looked great. It was okay, but nothing spectacular. I'm sure the xi will look good.

the evo borned in 1992, and got the drive train and the engine from the Galant VR4, which had the 4G63T from 1988.

but to say that is a same engine, is probabaly as true as the same engine in Hyundai 4B11t vs the Evolution 4B11t.

the 4G63 engine was used by MM from 1983 to 2007, almost 25 years. that's speaks volumes about that particular design.

When an X is behind you, you notice it right away and know that the car means business".
based on the supposed pictures of the new model on the three sources, that what i'll judge my opinion on. As for beauty is on the eye of the beholder what beauty do you see?? you can't even tell a new evo apart from a regular lancer..... your friend's opinion has no relevance to me. when driving my 8 this past weekend, i get more looks, stares and thumbs up from people because they know what the car is, it doesn't look like a mongrol child of a dodge charger and a earlier model mitsubishi galant.

Yawn, you boor me with your mindless ramblings. The 8/9 are great cars, no doubt about it. The X is great too. The sad thing, you are so biased, you cannot say anything nice about a car other than yours. And, I stand by my comment that you are divisive. This site is supposed to be for ALL Evo/Lancer owners, not just 8's and 9's.

It is for all evos and lancers, and also like any other FREE PUBLIC forum, i am entitled to my own opinion. this is a forum, if you can't take someone's comment whether it's good or bad maybe you shouldn't be on one....

Yeah I totally agree with this. In my opinion one of the reasons the Evo 7- 9 was so cool was because it was completely different looking physically from all other Mitus especially other Lancers because of the different trims. so when you actually seen a Evo it had a real WOW factor because of its rarity. Don't get me wrong the Evo X defiantly has its own wow factor i just think its lessened because it shares its front grill design as well as a few other major physical traits which in my opinion lessens the shock value of the Evo X over all. Just my take on things lol

Looking that new outlander PHEV will have around 190kW/250hp with 1.8t of weight, it doesn't sound that bad at all. Thinking that Evo will have 140kw(my assumption)+80kwx2 with 1.7t (3750 pounds I think) of weight doesn't sound bad and with torque that these engine will deliver I think it will be unique monster to have. But still I hope they retain regular setup with something new: Mitsubishi's GDI technology coupled with MIVEC(something Nissan did with their DI engines an VVEL) with less weight, wild dreams atm.

Seems to be a whole lot of spaming going on lately. Do you have something to sell? Nearly 15 post in 2 minutes and joined this month...hhmmm. To bad you didn't read enough to know what sections count toward your post count. Though I am not sure if you are spamming or just want to sell something under a BS screen name. I guess that we will see.

Sure the IX looks SLIGHTLY more different that the base model than the X does, but the fact of the matter is people not interested in the EVO can't tell the difference of either generation with its base model.

That said, I will agree that they should completely redesign the EVO on entirely it's own platform. No more sharing crap with Lancers. Just change the name entirely to EVOLUTION. Sure, it might be a little bad for marketing, but it will make EVO owners a whole hell of a lot happier...hahaha

Does anyone think that it might be possible to just simply remove the hybrid **** (battery and generator) and make the next Evo a turbo-diesel?; because I think that a pure turbo-diesel evo would be pretty cool.

You mean people actually think the VIII or IX were good looking cars? Much like the Subaru STI's of the time they are outdated, boxy looking economy cars with big handlebar wings. At least the EVO X tries to look a bit more mature and less juvanile. IX's & VIII's look like they could have been introduced in the early 90's inside and out.

Totally agree with you there buddy, the Evo should be on its on platform.

My concern with the next gen Evo is the fact that their doing a diesel electric hybrid. The diesel part sounds ok but its the electric part that worries me. Electric powered sports cars do tend to accelerate pretty fast but having all those batteries in the car just makes the car heavier then it really needs to be not to mention all the time it takes to charge batters. I read somewhere that the new Evo is expected to do 0-60 in something like 5 seconds which is pretty good but i don't think its fast enough to make it justifiable to drop in an electric motor and a bunch of batteries adding wight to the car. Drop the electric part and go all diesel this will help keep building cost down and suggested sales prices which can only help boost sales.
