"Evo XI" rumors, speculations, and media reports.
i think that this thread should start discussing 2 questions:
1. is mitsubishi really coming out with the next evo?
and more importantly
2. will they have a presence in the US if/when they do?

"In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get."

Not sure how true it is, but this was posted last week

Additionally, you can program and control that motor to NEVER allow your tires to slip. You can sense that slip of the motor inside a Flux Vector controller well before the tires actually slip. You can switch power from motor to motor without any mechanical connections.
First, there is no way a motor can tell the tire is slipping relative to the ground. All the motor will know is if it's slipping relative to the other wheels. It would work the exact way traction control works.
Second, I'm not sure what "you can switch power from motor to motor" means.
...and technically even an electrical connection is a mechanical connection (unless you are using an H-field to transfer power from the batteries to the wheels...

On a side note, why does the evo in the picture have mismatched tires?? lol
Mitsubishi doesn't care how well their car does on the used car market. Their current line up is pretty depleted. Their main concern is how to get people to buy their current products. They could care less if someone like me picked up a used eclipse.
so so true.. the evo is just pure all around great car... i wouldnt touch any other mitsu car without lancer in it.
Lets face it they took out the eclipse, endevor and galant. They were not performing. We now pretty much only have the flagship lancer and the rvr and outlander all on the same platform. They are great but we need more mitsubishi greatness that you only get elsewhere... we need the nice pajero 3door with those 2.5 turbo diesels that are so nice. The L200 is a bit suicidal since the american market is ruff about trucks but if people knew this one they would know its as good as any toyota truck. And the delica!!! Why dont we have this one?!?! I just cant understand why in a market where we have so much big cars like vans how come they dont give us one of those best of the kind that only mitsu understands. A camper van jacked up on pajero off road mecanics!! What could i want else?
