how to (11's)
Wow, pretty heated little argument goin on! I also decided to learn about my car in the process of making it hella-faster and I'm honestly glad I did. Now if something goes wrong, I can have it fixed for a lot less $$$ (DIY). Plus, my engine bay looks pretty different from the norm just by piecing it together and fabbing my own brackets.
I don't really think anyone doubts Buschur's ability to make safe power for a reasonable price... There are a lot of ways to get to the 11's and he (Dave) happens to have a relatively simple path. If you are skilled and have access to parts and tuning, you can do it even cheaper, but if you are like me (and the majority of people on here) you need a little guidance... Well laid-out ugrade paths from tuner/vendors are the way to go (Buschur, Vishnu, TTX, etc.)

You make it seem like the only reason why people go with the staged upgrades is because they dont know what to do. Well like you alot of us know the ins and outs on how a motor works and what not. I prefer to do the staged upgraded because they have been proven over and over again time after time. Also for the price you cant go wrong with the prices that Buschur offers.
Best and easiest way to get close to the 11s would be a 3" TBE, Cams, Good tune, and a intake.

Take the exhaust off the car. Buy VP Import. Lock the wastegate shut and get a used AFC to semi-tune the car
I dunno how long the car will last but I would image it will make an 11 second pass before she gives up.
That would keep you under $200 for sure. I guess it that doesn't work for ya, go get a used nitrous kit for another $200 and shoot as much as you can. Only do it when you got about 1/10th of the track left and give er hell. I think you could make it!

Trinababe,
You hit the combination right on the head. Pull the spare tire out, bumpers out, rest of the interior too while you are at it. Weight is ET/MPH.
That was my point, you can make it fast for nothing basically, but who'd want to drive it on the street.
