Srt neon vs My evo... Almost even.. Wtf
Becarefull with the SRT-4's. I have seen the run 12.6's with slicks plus the stage two set-up with toys. I have had a few runs with them from a roll. They have great midrange power. Good run, you should not be pissed being almost even with him. You need to get the intake tuned. As stated earlier you are not making the most out of your mods. Also if you had cams you would most likely kill him.
First off why is this in the drag racing section?
Second thing, slightly stock, COME ON DUDE that can mean so many different things, that can mean 3 or 4 mods, 2 or 3 mods, and what mods are they? You don't know, to keep up with you, even without Cams, he is gonna need some really good mods, could be only a couple, but a couple of the right mods. Honestly if you look at it, an EVO running mid 12s is almost stock too, doesn't take a lot. Now if he said, all he had was an intake, or just had a MBC, then I wondered what is wrong, and he probably is lying to you. If you still feel that somthing is wrong with your car then go get your car dynoed, see what she puts down, but to base everything off of some guys claim of being almost stock is just ABSOLUTELY STUPID!!!! If you feel like your EVO just doesn't have enough top end for you, then get the cams, they will help you, your EVO is just fine your the one with problems.
Look the SRT-4 weighs approx. 2900Lbs and put down 220-230WHP (Dyno Jet) while the EVO weighs 3200-3300Lbs and puts down 240-250WHP (Dyno Jet), the power to weight of both cars are pretty equal. The EVO will beat a SRT-4 up to around 100MPH due to gearing, but the SRT-4 have slightly better top end and should start to pull at speeds abover 100MPH. This is only the case for the 5-Speed RS and GSR models, the MR model (due to the 6-Speed and slightly more dyno proven power) has better top end and will pull on a SRT-4 up top and will also pull on RS and GSR models (everything stock for stock).
So if your EVO is really making 320WHP like you say, it's just reality that it would take a SRT-4 making close to 290-300WHP to keep up with you like that (no other tricks such as weight loss or etc., just straight bolt on power adders). Now how did the SRT-4 get that power, it all depends, maybe to this guy, he considers gaining an extra 60-70WHP as not a big deal and he thinks of his car as pretty much stock. Others may see it differently, see it as an considerable investiment. It all depends on how far your looking ahead, maybe someone with an EVO making 320WHP see's his or her car as almost stock, why because they have plans such as turbo upgrades and etc., they plan to make 500WHP. Another person may be satisfied with a 320WHP EVO. The point is, you cannot base your cars performance off of so many unknowns. Does your car really run 12s? Does it really make 320WHP? If so then what are you b*tching about, those are the KNOWNS! Your car is faster than a hell of a lot of other cars, would have handed my previous VR4 it's ***.

Don't under estimate the neon. My buddy has the older non lsd stock stage one car and it runs consistent 13.5 w/ stock tires. There are several running around here in the mid 12's with bolt ons.
Dont give up yet. Throw those cams in and get a reflash. I raced an srt4 from a second gear roll. His second gear was useless. Top of third the same thing. I had about 2 1/2 cars on him by the time we hit 140. Oh he had a bigger turbo, wastegate front mount I mean his car was moving. If he had slicks on he would of won. Anyway next time race him from a second gear roll and stomp his ***.

Cabo
SRT-4s are for going in a straight line and who the hell cars even if you do lose, there is ALWAYS going to be somone faster. Get a car you enjoy, an EVO would run circles around an SRT-4 on a track. Everything has its pros and cons.
