Is this good? Evo IX 1/4 Mile results
Thanks buddy....i know i could have done better...i was just really nervous, and that made me hesistate...i didn't power shift either, so that might give me another .5 mph on my mph which would put me at a low 109. sucks everyone only got 2 runs. the track i'm going to next week can get at least 20 runs in a night. Hopefully it'll be a little cooler, the forecast for next week is suppose to be in the 60's. so everyone cross your fingers for me...

Let the clutch rest a minute before u start doing 20 consecutive runs down the track, especially since your new to the car and drag racing you might have to replace the stock clutch sooner then you think

i prolly will not run that much....its just horrible every1 was there for 3+ hours and ran twice.. i just wanna hit a 1.7 or 1.8 and be done with it.... annnnd...i already have clutch money lol....i just need to do some more research and see what would be best for me...i want something driveable and these are my planned up grades....cut out, test pipe, down pipe, 272/272, injen intake/hard pipe, lower incooler pipes, walbro if needed, ecu tune, manifold and o2....i had a 2004 a4 ultrasport previous to this car....quattro 6spd and i was able to pull 1.7's all night....that car was amazing easy to launch...almost impossible to mess up

Yeah the quattro is easy to launch. There is a way to unplug the rev limiter, I'm not sure if you know this? I'm not exactly a 100% on how, but other members, such as Warrtalon knows how to do this.
Yeah, you are correct, 3000ways. There is a way to disconnect the launch limiter, i've talked to warrtalon about it before. I'm sure most of you guys used to own a DSM before your evo. On the eclipse you can disconnect the clutch switch so you don't have to push the clutch in on starts. Well, you can do the same thing on the evos. Right next to where you disconnect the clutch switch for starts there is another small connector plugged in and that is for the launch limiter. All you have to do is unplug it and twist tie or zip tie it out of the way. I have seen a picture of it before but i don't have one on this computer. Maybe someone else could help out and post a picture of where to disconnect that stuff.

With minimal mods (exhaust, mbc and an afc) I was able to light all four tires if I caught it just right when the tires were cold. THe more carbon slips and gets hot, the more it grips. TTP has 100+ passes on thier stock clutch as well. Im sure some others can chime in here.

Quick correction on the switch for the 5k limiter. It is not the switch right next to the clutch switch. It's much higher up above the fuse box near the top of the clutch pedal. There are 3 white connectors under the driver's side dash as you go up the clutch pedal, and the 5k limiter is the one at the top. The first one is the clutch switch (I always keep this disconnected), the 2nd is for cruise control (I wish), and the 3rd is the launch control switch (I keep it connected now that mine is set to 6k).
There are already writeups on this, so you can search for it by doing an advanced search for the term "5000" in topics only. It shows up right away. However, it's not even necessary...just get under there and find the white connector at the top of the fuse box.
