if he nails the launch, its gonna be close! you NEED to get out of the hole HARD! on a good track, with a good launch he is probably cutting between a 12.9-13.5. of course this all depends on mods. there are several srts in the 12s with stage1, WGA, t-back exhaust, and DR's. infact, the first srt in the 12s had just those mods there. good luck, and bring us back the news, hopefully the good news that you put that cocky SOB in his place! i cant stand cockyness when it comes to the SRT4!

Quote: Mathew,

I just went to the other website and copy and paste his mods for everyone to look at it:

'04 SRT-4: Turbo Back Side Exit Exhaust, HKS Blowoff Valve, AGP Hardpipes, AGP Front Mount Intercooler, AGP Wastegate Actuator, AGP Motor Mounts, AGP Intake, MAP Clamp, Eibach Pro Kit..... WINGLESS!!!!!!

I want to put things in perspective, ARE51TURBO(Travis) had a full stage III on his SRT-4 before he got T-bone, he made 330WHP and his car was very fast from a roll.
Travis and myself admitted in two different forums(srt-4 forums and sonoran musclecars) that our cars were absolutely dead even from roll (35-100mph)

My car back then only had: Cams,CAI,MBC and 3 "TB

Now add, alcohol kit, tunning, fuel pump,LICP and UICP, better BOV. You see where I am coming from?,

SRT-4 from the guy you are racing
Travis(330whp srt-4)
Travis 330whp vs my MR with Cams,CAI,MBC and 3 "TB were equal, our trap speeds at the track were identical back then.
Now I have way more mods. I still wouldn't make any comments, lets wait until Saturday at SIR.
My 04 SRT4 was modded slightly more extensively than his.....but on the highway it was killa though

Don't put in a 100 octane fuel unless you can increase boost. Your mod list for this race should be a manual boost controller. Use a manual boost controller, turn up the boost and then add 100 octane fuel...that will very well do you good.

I agree with your predictions but there is a fact here, they are going to race at SIR in Tucson, the fastest SRT-4 so far has been Travis with his 330WHP which by the way the guy is indeed a very good driver.
Most of the SRT-4's I have seen ran anywhere from 14.0 to low 15 at SIR. After I read his mods, I predict the guy would run around 14.0@103-105.

I agree, that is the nature of the beast, the SRT-4 weights roughly 2950lbs, it is underrated from the factory, it puts some decent power and it has a great displacement to generate good torque, it has tiny tires and friction and they can also make crazy power with stupid mods for silly money, I definately give them credit for that, they are quick from a roll.

I think, launching the car good will determine the entire race. Matthew must install a MBC from someone.

Matthew, my brain just lit up, I do have a spare MBC at my girlfriend house, contact evo9grl NOW, ASAP.

One more thing Matthew, goand get a couple of bottle of GM Shyncromesh or Penzoil Shyncromesh, take your car to the base auto hobby shop and ask Fish(the mechanic) to put the 2 quarts of oil in your tranny. You wouldn't regret of what I am telling you to do. You don't want any chance of missing any gears when revin high.

Ask Ev9grl about her tranny.

Matt,

I have an extra mbc here at home, it's actually Carlos' but he doesn't mind if you borrow it for the race. Send me a PM and I'll give you more info on how to get it.

I wish you luck. If you are a good driver and know how to launch the car, you should have the advantage. I have seen this guy race before, and he is good. Maybe just try to practice your launching for now. There is a place behind the airport where Carlos likes to go and race. Maybe he can tell you more about that place.

Let me know if you want to borrow the MBC.

Take care and good luck,

Socorro

Thanks Socorro.. By the way, always put the word "private" road, you never know who is watching or reading these topics

Don't look to far Socorro, our next door neighboor is a Cop, a few houses down the road we have a Pima Sheriff neighboor and within 200feet we also have a woman highway patrol and her neighboor is a jail correctional officer(Martin) so shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Wow...that was a lot of replies since yesterday. I'm just gonna run it stock because I have never ran my car yet and I would like to see what it runs before I start modding it. But if he beats me, oh well. I'm stock. After I run a couple times then I will start modding. But thanks again for all the advice everyone. I'll let you all know the turn out on Saturday. Peace!!

Good luck Matt. Evo9grl told me that you did not pm her for the MBC I am offering you. I think you are going to the track just to see what you can do and not to win.

Remember, Tucson is small and the guy on the SRT-4 will open his mouth telling everyone . Don't worry, I will take the revenge, I saw his post at sonoranmusclecars forum challenging me..

Good luck either way..

IMHO, It doesn't look pretty good for you, man...

Just take a look to my best-run time slip. I'm #21 and the other car was a highly modded SRT-4. Forget about the ET and the trap speed, which by the way is outstanding for a SRT4, and notice the Neon's 60': 1.82 w/o slicks.
My point is, if you don't know how to launch an AWD and this guy is a experienced driver that will be using front slicks, chances are you'll get spanked. On top of that, his SRT4 has a few mods and yours is bone stock. Good luck!
