I have to say Matthew did well considering his lack of experience at the track, lack of mods and track conditions. Perhaps a 13.8 is a shame at Cecil raceway or MIR raceway but here at Tucson is no where close to a bad times.

Most of the STIs I have seen at SIR with minimal mods run identical times.

my .2c

I concur with you sir...

Wow. I guess I'm not as good at launching as I thought. But I'm just happy I got into the 13's.
Just to let you know, you need to really work on your launching or a much slower car - srt4 - will get you. Your 60 ft is hurting you, should be 1.8 or lower.

Practice a few lanches at about 3000 - 3300 rpm with a very slow slip of the clutch, then after you see what the car is asking for you can slip faster at higher rpms. Remember, learn your cars response to the clutch and rpms.

I know exactly how you feel. At work this guy talks all sort of crap about his built Z28 [pistons, head, TB (TB? give me a break) bla, bla] in front of everyone but never shows up to back up what he says. I even gave him a map for directions and my phone # just in case he runs into trouble.

You see, a time slip will destroy all credibilty for them to yap BS publicly so they never show up.

The z28 does not have NO2, even if he did, 75 shot on street tires with an automatic would be too much for this person to handle esp on our 1/8 mi track which is slightly uphill and cambered.
