Couple first runs at the track

Well I found out that my stock clutch with just about 50k on it is unlaunchable, it just cant hold the power off the line what so ever. I mustered up some lousy 2.0+ 60fts. I was obviously not expecting anything from the ET after that but I wanted to get some decent traps.

I went on April 6 and only got in 3 runs, [1st I missed 2nd gear, the other the clutch was slipping in 1/2nd so I just coasted down] 3rd one I went 12.4 (left slip) with a 2.0x.
_________
Today I went and got 2 runs which were near identical, the ticket blew out the window on the way home of the first one, the 2nd run I went 2.3 60 (had to get out of it in 1st then get on it again) and got a whopping 12.7@116. It was 68degrees out. This is on 93 octane with 22psi, the same as I drive the car everday, I havent even adjusted my boost on the Hallman in weeks! Im happier with this trap but I think I can do better and obviously when I get my ACT I can work on that ET

The most impressive thing I saw about my top end was that the other run (no slip here) I went only 87mph in the 1/8th yet I went 115.1 in the 1/4, thats a 28mph gain!

Well, you're getting traps that match your dyno figures, so that's good.

Don't be surprised, though, if you get MUCH better ETs and slightly LOWER traps after the clutch install.

Yeah I was somewhat satisfied with 116, I really want a 117 though. My 1/8 mphs varied from, from 87mph to 90mph, even when I missed 2nd.

I should have went to the track when it was 40 degrees out and had more life on my clutch so I could at least abuse it once with the 6k launch control and ran a good ET

Damn 7k huh lol thats crazy. My clutch will only slip if I launch it.. normal driving its yet to slip even once. It did on the dyno in January on my second to last run (369/382) but on the 378/386 it did not slip. Weird.

Yeah with your new clutch your 60 foot will drop dramatically. You will probably only trap 114 or 115 with your improved 60 foot.

We'll see. I dont have really much track experience, I was trying to look at 1/8 mphs compared to my traps but they seemed to be inconsistent. For example. in beginning of April one of my runs I completely missed 2nd gear, got it in, and went 89mph in the 1/8th... 113.7 1/4 with a 12.9. That run I actually had a 1.8 60ft! Figures I missed 2nd that one time I get in the 1s.

I expect to get a cluctch sometime in the summer because I was going to do methanol injection however, I really want to run the car on straight pump with my current setup and hit some 11s!

Well mine is not a daily driver, so when I do drive it, it sees boost all the time

I just turned 60000, 22 psi on pump with 280's stock springs and 8200 redline. Its all in how you tune and maintain.
