EDIT: This is a joke. Absolutely nothing said by me until post #115 was actually me. And all the idiots flaming me after that fact was revealed need a f'n life.

Well, I am thinking about getting rid of my car, but yesterday I was issued a challenge from some guy in my area with a new Ferrari F430 coupe... he has had the car for about a month, and thinks that it's the fastest thing in the world. He has no idea what the Evo is capable of...

So here is the challenge; he want's to run at the strip for $1000, and he wants to do it this weekend. Now, $1000 to him is probably nothing, but to me it's a lot of money... I think I have a legitamate chance of beating him though, we are straight up drag racing, times are not being taken into consideration, whoever gets to the trap first, wins. Now I think that if I can get a sweet launch, I'll be able to rip on him out of the hole, due to his crappy RWD traction. What do you guys think? Any advice on launching, or should I do anything to prep for the race?

Also, a co-worker of mine drives a sweet, yellow C6, with headers, exhaust, intake and a cam. He wants to also run from a roll on the street for $500. I said I didn't want to run except for on a track, because street racing is ghey. He said that if I didn't want to run on the highway, then he want's to take it to a road course, like Limerock. Any suggestions for this one...?

Ferrari F430 coupe is a low 12s car, depends on yr level of mods, u need to be a real good driver and not screw up the launch to win this race. Do you know what is yr car capable of in the 1/4 mile track? ETs and trap speed?

Stock for stock you don't stand a chance against the F430 especially if its F1 paddle shift. IF they're both stick shift cars and hes not that good of a driver you have a slim chance. If your modded considerably then its a different story.

Its too much of a gamble. Dont do it(unless like mentioned above you have a heavy turbo with a good tune for race gas/alky)

Doooonnnn't doooooo iiiiiiiiiitttt!!!!! Unless you have the two step rev limiter to help you launch it, it is easier for you to make a mistake than the Ferrari. IIRC the F430 has that F1 launch control thing where it pretty much launchs itself perfectly everytime. Plus that whole 120mph trap thing. You could spend those $1000 on making your car faster.

P.S. Or donate the money to me so I can make my car faster. If you want I would defend your honor afterwards and beat the Ferrari for you.

My mods are exhaust, intake, BOV, and a tune. You guys really dont think I have a chance??? Against either car? The F430 is paddle shift, and the C6 is a 6spd, Z51... The Vette is making 400-420 RWHP...

NOPE, no way... Sorry.

You need cams and alky to even put up a fight. Or Robispec + some track days to take the C6.
