What about nitrous? There is a guy around here with a '03 C5 Z06 that is bone stock with a 100 dry shot, that smoked a 450 whp Talon, and a 500 HP Supra... How much of a dry shot could my car handle without getting too risky???

This is the funniest thing I've ever read. I/E/bov/tune Evo wants to run an F430 for a grand and a C6 for $500?? (btw, the vette is 400hp at the flywheel, not wheels). You might have a slight chance with the vette on the street if you can get a good launch, but it will be close. You are probably putting down, what like, 320hp at the most? The Ferrari was tested at 11.7 @120. No way you will even come close, no matter how good your launch is. Good example of a stupidly cocky evo owner.

BTW...

Funniest thing I've heard in a while. Perfect example of the overconfident, cockey Evo owner who thinks his car rules the world. This 'new guy' thinks his car is the fastest thing because it damn near is.

Nobody in the Evo community really uses nitrous, so you won't get any good feedback about that one. Your only choice with that is guess and check, really.

works awesome. I use a 150shot and C16 at the street races. My car put down 467whp and 585lb ft of torque with those and TBE, MBC and cams.

Just make sure you have headstuds.

Did you bother to read my post where I said what his mods were?! Intake, longtube headers, exhaust and a cam. The car is making between 400 and 430 AT THE WHEELS. I have spent a little while on the Vette boards, and they make around 330-340 whp stock, and ~415ish-420ish whp with those mods/ cam specs.

Ok, so I guess I will need a lot of work to even hang with these guys. I am thinking about just selling my car and picking up a used '03 Z06 for ~$30k... more potential, faster stock, cheaper to make fast...

(Now the pendulum swings the other way) Corvette parts cheap??? What are you smoking? The Evo is the best bang for the buck out there in the $30,000 range. But you just can't compete against a $150,000+ Ferrari with basic mods on your Evo. If you want a faster Evo talk to one of the bigtime tuners like AMS or Buschur. But don't insult the Evo now. Besides, the Evo has something those others will never have... space for 4 and your luggage.

Get your checkbook ready.

The fact of the matter is that either of these cars, reasonably well driven, is going to send you home crying. What you have on your side is that your car is fairly easily made capable of beating either with carefully selected modifications. The bad news is that it's going to cost you a good bit more than $1000.

End of story.

Chewie, you got flamed to h3ll a couple months ago when you were talking about getting rid of your car right after you bought it. Something about the dealership screwing you and your buddy over or something like that.

It seems to me that not much has changed. It's obvious you know very little about Evo's. If you even have to ask, there is no way you can beat either one of those cars. You should already know what kind of power you're making. You should already know what kind of speed & times you're able to pull. Have you ever even raced your car at the track? Do you expect to go to the track and beat them the first time out?

If you had done any of the above things, you would already know you don't have a chance against either car. What are you trying to accomplish by playing this thread out?

unless you run 11.7's at about 120mph you'll get your *** handed to you. Just saw a program on speed channel that put the f430 through its paces.
Hope you got some mods.

Forget about these guys Chewie4299, they don't know anything. Grab $500 and buy a 500 shot NAWZ kit and turn the boost up to 40PSI. That's Enzo-eating power right thurr.
