new PB on stock turbo!

last night I went to Atco with the stock turbo back on. I wasn't really expecting much since the car was kind of thrown back together with the stock parts. My previous best was a 12.49 @ 110 on 24psi/pumpgas.

Traction totally sucked, I came out of the whole spinning like crazy on every pass and even got sideways a few times. got 4 runs in total, could have had at least 3 more but I didn't want to push the car.

first pass was full of wheel spin

60' - 1.91
330' - 5.33
1/8 - 8.13
MPH - 86.97
1000' - 10.55
1/4 - 12.59
MPH - 111.0

this was also my highest pumpgas MPH to date in both the 1/4 & 1/8th, and it was done on less boost then before.

2nd pass i figured I should come a little softer out of the whole and it worked.

60' - 1.74
330' - 5.12
1/8th - 7.93
MPH - 86.86
1000' - 10.36
1/4 - 12.40
MPH - 110.8

second pass got me a new personal best ET.

3rd pass I broke my pervious best ET & MPH from the last pass

60' - 1.75
330' - 5.10
1/8th - 7.89
MPH - 87.78
1000' - 10.29
1/4 - 12.31
MPH - 111.72

4th pass was the best of the night.

60' - 1.72
330' - 5.03
1/8th - 7.80
MPH - 87.99
1000' - 10.21
1/4 - 12.24
MPH - 111.24

it would have been even better I had 10 counts of knock on my 2-3 & 3-4 shifts, which is strange because I had zero knock before... ohh well thats how it goes.

this was done in my full weight (minus spare) 04 GSR w/SS&L and 75k miles on the odo with 22psi peak boost tappering down to 20.6 @ 7k on straight 93 octain. Only power mods are TBE & IC from Ebay, MBC, MR BOV, K&N cone filter & my favorate mod of all ECUFlash. ALso this was on Blizzak WS-50 series snow tires.

I know its not the 'best' time out there but considering the conditions and the fact that I was running almost 2 full psi LESS boost then when I had my previous best time I am very pleased. I think 11s on pumpgas aren't totally out of the question.

Nice, you car is running about exactly as fast as mine..I'm planning on going to atco this coming friday if you feel like going again..I'm shooting for 12.1's this time, last time I was at atco I ran a 12.24@110.8 but I have since added a jdm BOV and k&N drop in, I am also running Nokian snow tires as well so we'll see..Let me know if you are up to going again this week..

don't think I'll be going next Friday but good luck.

I also forgot to mention, not that it makes a big difference or anything, all these passes were w/o a honeycomb screen in my MAF. Infact I've been driving w/o a screen for the last 2 weeks now with no real issues that I can tell. It certinally doesn't effect power at all.

And you went through the trouble of re-installing the stock turbo? I was wondering if I was having mixed memories or what, but now I see I was right - coulda sworn your last post was with the GT35R.
