Drag Racing with the 6 speed is for the most part a complete waste of time. I lost Friday night at the Local BOTI challenge series because I had to shift into 5th. I lost by .03 to rub the salt in the wound a little deeper. Worse yet because of slamming into 5th all night (and the 100 or so passes between this season and last) something gave way and now 6th is really really notchy. It will barely go in unless you really pull hard (not grind, high effort) but 5th is okay.

I am doing what I should have done along time ago. Fix it if its not too much and trade it to someone that doesnt race for their box (already sold/traded btw, dont PM me about it).

Yes, completely stock and has not been rebuilt. I no lift shift whether I am drag racing or racing solo events.

Speaking for myself and everyone else that has gnarled their 6 speed syncrhos to the point of notchy shifting misery, I can't understand how in the hell you are still on a stock 6 speed with all that racing?

I swapped to a Exedy HD at 22,000 miles, and my tranny is still as sticky as molasses in January in Antarctica (granted I've miss-shifted my fair shair of times). It just "bottles" the mind that you aren't having the same problems as the rest of the human race, SUPERMAN!

Pleas indulge us into the secret art of maintaning a 6 speed.

There is no secret that I can share with you. I can say there are only a couple of times that I have ever heard grinding on a missed shift and it was very light. Not sure how many other people have mistakenly rev'd to over 9K RPM on a stock block and been fortunate enough not to damage anything. I have more than once. How does Buschur go 8's with stock transfer cases or a basically stock tranny?

Here are the races that I have been to (starts in 2005).

Lastly, I am a firm believer in GOD and not Superman. Jesus built my hot rod and maybe that is my secret.
