Went to the track last night for the 2nd time ever in my 05 8 and i was disgusted with myself.

1st run, I had a great launch and than shift into second around 78-7900 rpm's and GRIND, GRIND, missed second gear twice, than i'm further down the track and go to shift into 4th, GRIND, couldn't get her in 4th either untilt he 2nd try.

2nd run, about 45 minutes later, i had a so so launch and shifted around 7400 rpms and it went into gear but grinded like a ****, the same thing with 4th gear.

Any advice?

I have the following mods that related to the transmission:

Exedy Stage 2 Clutch (4 puck)
Shortened Clutch Rod
SS Clutch Line
Works Short Shift w/ Bushings
Aerosync Engine Damper

what are your mods? most lightly modded evos should shift at 7000-7100 or so (at sea level)

 

I grind 2nd and I dont know why it pisses me off

hopefully you find out what to do
