First time at the drag strip.

i have a feeling my car needs a new tune i dont think this one is decent.
i have buschur TBE intake 02 housing. cosworht cams, walboro fuel pump, forge boost controller. and a dyno flash. at 20.5 PSI all says my car makes more power at 20.5 then it does at 23psi.

here is my time slip

Reaction .5489
60ft 1.9032
1/8th 8.2311
1/8th mph 84.72
1/4 time 12.8100
1/4 MPH 109.74

This was my first time EVER at a drag strip and EVER launching my evo. i did have some trouble getting in 3rd gear on this run.

i rode in my buddys evo and he ran a best of 12.88 for the day but only difference is he has intercooling piping and no cosworth cams. but i feel his tune is more suprioer. his car between 5-7k rpm in any gear is just powerful. i dont know if its safe the way its tune.

anyways any feed back on my run? people were saying that everyone was running slow for the day.

First things first great reaction time but if u missed a gear and u were almost a full .1 faster then ur buddy u would have increased yer time greatly if u hadnt mis shifted. Take a couple more runs on a different day before u start retuning .

So you have the mph for bottom twelves, which indicates you're running a good bit slower than the power you have, and you didn't get a clean shift to 3rd gear, and this is the 1st time ever to a track or launching your Evo at the strip, but you think it's your tune???? Hmmm..... O.K., you're only running 20ish psi correct? So even with the nice mods you have on an IX the mph is probably on par with only 20psi., maybe a couple mph slow, but 1st time at the track and not getting 3rd cleanly has a bit to do with that as well. Think about it....With a clean pass and a 60' that is descent you knock probably .4 off your time slip and gets you around a 12.4-12.5 with only 20 psi. Without logging knock counts, what load you're hitting, IPW, etc... it's shooting in the dark as to whether it's your tune or not. Not to be harsh, but at this point it's got much more to do with you than the tune at this point based on what info. is presented thus far.

im just basing my tune against my friends tune. with his not having cams.

his 5k-7k rpm range is like a monster. the only way i can describe it its like the car jumps ahead ac car when it hits this rpm range. has tremendous amount more power then mine at this rpm.

of course this is from my butt dyno.

I doubt its your tune, its your driving, With a good 60 ft. time and good shifting you will be very happy.

Was it knocking?

We have pretty similar setup. Practice more and you will see much lower times! Me too first time ever at the track, first time ever with the Evo, and a 4wd car i managed 12.1@114. (mods in my sig)...

Next week i am aiming 11s....

11s or bust!!!

Practice is the trick!
