First time at a drag strip :(

I just bought a 2003 evo 8 (no sunroof)
Power mods:
Gsc 2 cams
Tsudo exhaust
And maf adapter intake filter
255lph pump
Car tuned @26 psi.

Everything else is stock.

I did alot worse than I hoped for. Its my second time at drag strip ever but first time gettIng on this car ( boght it few days ago) and I had problem with getting into any gear at high rpm.

My question is, how fast should the car be?

You should easily be in the mid to low 12s, possibly even high 11s with excellent driving. If you're having trouble getting it to go into gear then you probably need a new clutch.

Clutch holds fine though. Think it's act.

Thought I'd need ic piping, o2 housing and intake atleast to run in mid 12's

Highest trap speed was 102. Whats a good shifting rpm? Seemed like it was a bit easier to shift into gear at 6500.

A friend of mine has very similar mods to yours only he has an AEM intake and Kelford 272s (GSC S2s are better IMO) and he runs 12.3-12.5 on about 24 psi. Good driving should get you there if there are no other issues with the car. Who tuned it? Also, some people have complained about having lockout issues with the ACTs so that could be what's going on. I personally run an ACT and I haven't a single issue with it yet. Shifts like butter at the track!

Its your clutch. ACT are known to cause high rpm lockout. Its not that it doesnt hold the power or that its worn out. Its just a flaw on evo ACT clutches.

Usually shift about 7000. Trap speeds should be around 110-115. 102 is pretty low. Could be a combination of poor shifting and some boost leaks and/or an issue with the tune.

syncros, not a clutch. the clutch engages and dont slip then it works.
You might need new sycros in your transmission. but it is def. interesting you had a problam in any gear though..

This is true but just note that not every ACT clutch is that way. There are plenty of guys running them without issue. I've learned that a lot of the lockout issues are caused by poor installation and you might be able to have it adjusted to fix it.

From what I have read, some ACT clutches have high RPM lockout issues. That is probably what you are experiencing. Did you get a single clean run in? You should be trapping way higher than 102 btw. Shift point varies from car to car but generally you want to shift when the power starts to fall off. On the stock turbo this is around 7200-7500 depending on your setup.

I'll double check on the clutch. Is clutch cylinder adjustable on the evo?

Was tuned by boostin performance. I didn't do any mods to it. I guess previous owner has solid shifter bushings in cabin with short shifter but oem under hood bushings. I'll try upgrading those too.

Did my lunch around 5500 and felt like car rolled slightly.

Think I did 7 runs and all like that. Best was 13.5 at 102. 1.9 60ft I know 60ft is bad but I ran 12's in Subaru with those 60ft
