I'll probably change out dv. Plan for evo 9 turbo and e85.

hard to find good basic info on here, mostly built engine and high hp. would engine mounts/tq dampener help with shifting?

thanks for all the input so far. Glad to be in the evo community

you have intake, fmic, bigger turbo and mivec.

But I should still be way faster then 13.5

I know that oem o2 housing and Licp are very restrictive. So those are on my to do list.

Would I know if bov leaking during boost leak test? Or do I just need to try other brand?
I got the speed source ones ...shifting is allot better...its impossible to miss a gear...wat really helped also was the front motor mount I got the AMS one....shifting at high rpms got easier

I just looked at my time slips.
I guess I ran 104mph for my last run but rolled on start so my 60ft was 3.xx

I'm thinking of doing bushings and at least a front mount. Would tq dampener help?

dont feel bad practice launching, to be honest when i was at 385 hp, with worn motor mounts, only got two runs in one day, my best was a 14.0 trapping 105 mph with a 2.0 60 ft, wheel hop high tire pressure and bad staging area, not to make excuses, but we could all use practice to improve, you gotta start somewhere. But 12s are easily attainable with a clean pass.

Here's a link to my build/journal thread.

You and I are in a very similar place. Some of the mods that I highly recommend for you are the Synapse DV (especially if you go E85 and up the boost), ETS LICP (Love this part), O2 housing (pretty much any brand will do, even E-bay), and possibly an upgraded exhaust manifold (ported stocker or MAP short runner). Those are my recommendations based on my experiences.

You'll also probably want an FMIC if you up the boost any more or go E85.

Thanks.

Parts I hope to get this year:
Evo 9 turbo (fp wastegate actuator)
1000's? Inj (e85)
Different bov
Intake
Full ets fmic set-up
o2 dump (or housing)
Porting exhaust and intake manifolds
Tb seals
Heat wrap exhaust parts and thermal tape.

Think that's about it for power mods.

All of that along with some good driving should easily put you in the high 11s

P.S. Might want to think about adding headstuds too if you don't have them already

^ can I add head studs without replacing hg? (1 at a time)

Engine was rebuilt by boostin 10k miles ago. Previous owner had them do a stock rebuild along with cams and bc springs.

I plan to auto-x more then drag, so don't want to break anything major just yet. (need to pay off few things first)

It's a matter of opinnion. Some say 1x1 is fine others say no. Strictly did mine 1x1 and I haven't had any issues.

OP: I have a 2003 Evo. I had the same issues with the transmission on a stock clutch. It is very possible it is your transmission that is causing this. What most people aren't pointing out here is the 2003 transmission is the worst of the lot. I would try adjusting your clutch or replacing if you want, but there is a huge possibility it's not your clutch. I have gone through this already and my clutch was fine.

Is it a weightless white evo 8 with about 109k miles? The kid had the motor rebuilt with stock internals by boostin performance because it spun a bearing? If so I rode in it cause my buddy was lookin at buying it. It didn't pull all that great, so I would say it's not really all ur driving. It was a pretty clean car. It needs a more aggressive tune and some e85 lol. I couldn't believe he didn't build the motor with stronger rods and better pistons and what not, but to each is own. Also if this is the car, I thought it had an exedy in it?

I was at the track a few weeks ago and ran a best of 12.3 at like 115 and that was not the best launch because my acd pump isn't set up right so sometimes doesnt transfer enough power and spins.... Also my evo is about as heavy as it gets, SSL sunroof leather and power everything!

Yes, that's the one. He didn't have money for stronger internals. Car runs fine though. Boostin tuned it and he said it was around 340whp on vd.

Ya it runs perfectly fine as far as drivability, just didn't feel like it pulled as good as it could or I might just be used to mine on e85. Mine feels slow now just cause I'm used to it, should feel good shortly on the built block and 6262. I just think that the price of at least some better rods than oem isn't that huge and when u already have the engine out and opened up it just seems logical, but then again not everybody wants a race car lol. Congrats on that car, my buddy was really wanting it, couldn't get financed.
