Ok fellas, so I got a generally quick question for you guys. I was just curious to know how fast you guys got your EVO up to. Some of you with flashes probably were able to bump that speed up and whatnot.

REMINDER: I DON'T WANT TO KNOW IF THIS WAS ILLEGAL. AS FAR AS ANYONE IS CONCERNED ALL OF THESE TOP SPEEDS ARE ON A LEGAL, CLOSED COURSE, as to not violate forum rules.


Anyway, the fastest that I have ever been able to get up to was 135MPH and I was taking a corner (felt the tires give and had to slow down) that you wouldn't even consider a corner at 60.

 

I topped my car out between 150-160 (I was too busy watchign where I was going to get a better look). I was racing a modded new m3 (exhuast at least) on a closed course and we were basically tied in third and fourth gears, fifth gear inched up a little bit, and in 6th gear, totally walked him (he did NOT give up) at which point I hit a limiter and blew my lower IC pipe and lost total power going 155+!

The brakes were awesome and the car was totally stable slowing down using brakes only (couldnt engine brake) from that speed down to a stop on the shoulder, I mean pits.

The car did not slow down at all and had more left in her before limiting out.

As always, I dont recommend finding out the top speed for yourself unless you have a friend who owns a runway...

I had mine against the limiter at a indicated 158MPH! It was totally stable and smooth! Completely stock!!

 

So, 155 is where the EVO's governor stops you from accelerating any more. Anyone with a flashed ECU have some speeds? Looks like there is a 164 and 167... Anyone breaking 170 or more?

 

175mph on my own property...Technically the car should be able to do 195mph...I just get nervous with the tires only rated to 168.

Lol, I wish, I really want my own drag strip. It was a long paved road that goes through a few acres of land
