You're looking for help and understanding but contradicting the posts. I've been down the power/tires/gearing many times. I've nailed the trap speeds/rpms within 20rpms on the revlimit and dead on mph. I do understand power. What is always misunderstood is you can't compare mph if ANYTHING in the gearing and final drive ratio is different. Exactly the same cars with a SINGLE gear being different (4th in this case) will yield different mph, even though BOTH have the exact same power. The tire height not only affects the topend mph, but also launch times, 1/8 mph etc, for one simple reason: The tire height comes in to play in EVERY gear, not just 4th. You'll find your problem.

 

to the OP - My best time was 11.85 @ 114, same tire as you (245/45/17) riding out 4th gear. Your 60' was a 1.65 to my 1.69. Honestly I think the times are close enough to compare. With that said I logged my run and got NO knock, and no clutch slipped per the logs. Good ET's with lower traps mean good driving in my book.

As for ET and trap speed. I look at it like this. When I am planning out mods, I set a TRAP goal. This way I know the car is doing its part. I then set an ET goal which I (or whomever is driving) should be able to achieve based on the trap goal. Hope that makes sense.

neverless, 11's on pumpgas = great accomplishment with the stock turbo.

I'd suspect the car IS pulling timing in 4th gear and thats why its only picking up 22.5mph up top.

 

only way i can know if its running lean or knocking is by login it, i have the Evoscan software but no cable

have your tooner install Teprha's knock-lite patch, so your CEL will flash at a preset knock thresold.

 

just curious, Could the OP be hitting rev limit so soon that a shift to 5 could actually speed him up? I know the XI fourth is a lower gear (higher numerical) How much different is it?

You have it. It does not affect the performance of the car, does not make it faster so it is of very little importance.

Throw a set of cosworths on the car Ramon and you will see 11's also. Let me know when you are ready. You are a good driver already.

Ewww thats a good one. I don't think the cars knock is slowing it down if in fact is knocking.. Oscar as a good driver should know if it was knocking or maintioned that if felt weird or slow in fourth. He hasn't stated it and I don't have doubts on the tuner. It could also be the fact that its on pump. Scott street tunes so its a little harder to tune fourth depending on drivers. If you get what I mean. There are many driver that run 11's on pump but few of them are running with high mph. Good driving and hot weather = Good ets and low mph. Same senario with cold weather better times and right mph. Or closer. THe car is running stock intercooler? There is so much to say.

how much psi..great job ..i went on 27 psi and pump & c16 mix and got 12.1 @114..( first time driving in about 5 months) i'll be back in feb to try again...i dont uderstand i need to try and just run it on pump...i pull a 1.7 60ft with no lift shifting????
