The 6 speed trans is actually holding up really well...i replaced the clutch and flywheel about 12k miles ago and replaced the fluid. The car is right about 36k miles and those were very hard miles...tons of autox...street launching and about around 20-25 1/4 runs between stock and now...but if anything ever happens to this tranny a built 5 speed till def. take its place...

Thanks for the advice. I have heard of using you ebrake to assist in launching but i've never tried it before. I was hoping to get my 60 fts down far enough to not have to try that method but i actually might try it now next time i go...thanks again...

Yup stock intake tube with a MAF adapter and K&N cone filter. I think i bought the MAF adapter and cone filter setup from AMS, i know Buschur & some other places sell them also. If you search under MalibuJack i did the same setup as he did years ago haha. I cut about the bottom 1/2 of my stock airbox off so the cone filter could hide in it. I left the taps on the airbox so it could still be bolted to the car. So the filter is hidden and my engine bay looks almost completely stock and the cone filter has a cold air intake type setup.

I appreciate the input and suggestions so far....anyone else??

Well, I'm more or less in the same basket - I tried, unsuccessfully, to hit high 11s with my setup: stock turbo, GSC S1 cams, Injen intake, TBE, EBC at 23psi, 6-speed tranny and other bolt-ons. You can see my signature for my best ET. I run constant low 12s but couldn't go below. I raised my limiter to 8000rpm, which is the highest recommended for the stock engine and I hit the limiter a few moments after the trap. Since I am about to build my engine and put a 35R on, I decided that the 6-sp will be not appropriate for drag racing and definitely not holding the high power/torque, so I bought a 5-speed stage 2 tranny from Shep. I hope my t-case and differentials will hold, though.

Damn you were so close...if you don't mind me asking what was your 60ft and 1/8 time on your 12.0 run? So you were staying in 4th gear in your 6 speed and reving to 8000 by the end of the 1/4? I don't plan on building my engine anytime soon...i don't have the money and i want to see how far i can take the stock turbo. Well have fun and good luck with your build.

so heat up the clutch befor your car moves ?
and when you let up on the clutch the 2 step goes away so you would be at 7800(rev limit) rpm and holding the e brake while sliping the clutch

2 step builds boost , no need for a e brake.

There was no 60ft measurement that time, I attach the part of the timeslip for you to see (speed is in km/h and sorry for the quality).
At the end of the 1/4 I was at about 7800rpm, a few seconds later I hit the limitation.
