Any track tips??

Hi i have a Evo 8 wit 430 whp nd im having problems launching it. I have no 2 step and im using an ACT clutch. i also have problems with getting it into gear sometimes, espically 4th, someone said ACT clutches are know to lockout at high RPMs? My best 60ft was 1.9 and the ET was 12.8 at 115. like what should my tire psi be (they are summer tires) and what is the easiest way to launch without a two step??

first get your 2 step working. next yes, people say the act lock you out. could be many things tho. How many miles on tranny?

don't worry about tire psi yet. have to fix your little problems before the really small things.

and if you made 430hp on a stock evo 8 turbo you deff mislead with the hp becasue should be trapping higher then that.

Replace ACT clutch with some sort of twin disc. I had this issue when I had my ACT in my car. I would rev it up to 7k w/ the clutch pushed in and the car would try to move. It was adjusted correctly so yeah it was the clutch before anyone jumps in here saying that it was my fault. I've owned many ACT clutches in my cars and everytime they did the same thing installed twin disc and problem solved. You will not get lock out with twin discs.

Had the same lock out issue with my ACT clutch,Fix it by getting the exedy sd twin disk never had a problem since.

Mike is right is your making 430 whp you should be trapping well over 120 mph range,Look in to that.

Try setting your 2 step at about 5.5 k i was cutting 1.58 all day.

Best luck getting Her right.

sorry forgot to mention..its a RNR 50 trim. it pretty much locks out every pass which makes it impossible to get into 4th. Manny should know the car pretty well cause i was just at turbo trix three weeks ago. The car also has 272 HKS cams, Greddy turbo back, RS transfercase, hallman BC, and weighs 3150 w/ driver.

were you at atco 2 days ago with the white and carbon fiber evo? i had the charcoal evo if so...you def need to jus get that 2 step going and slip that clutch all the way out. i had my tire psi at about 30psi. and you def need to get rid of that act clutch. i had that clutch before and all it did was lock me out every time i got on it. i got the excedy twin disk hd and it was installed by ivey tune and i love the clutch
