1/8th mile times

I took my car to a local 1/8th mile track this past weekend. The best I could run is a 9.1 is this on par or is there something wrong with my car? It felt like a dog the whole day and after that first pass all I could achieve is high 9s... Seems as though that if people are getting low 13s in the 1/4 this is way off. Any input is appreciated. Also it feels like in 3rd In the higher RPMs it is studdering pretty hard.

What are your 60' times?

Stock I ran a 8.7x in the 1/8th, and with a few bolt-ons I ran a 8.5x. I think you should be able to get under 9.0 stock, but you need to have decent 60's.

I this I was a little over 2 in the 60' I will grab my slips. My car just didnt seem to be pulling like it usually does. and it had this big studder in the top part of the revs. I think I read there was a flash for this. I might ask the dealer. I do have to work on my launch. The first (best time) I used 2 step and bogged hard. so I think if I had slipped it a bit more it would have been high 8's maybe. Thanks guys!!

What was the octane? The car can drop 20 - 50 HP with mild to moderate octane induced knock.

If you have really bad studder, then you may want to get the reflash at the dealer. I never got the flash, but just put a drop-in air filter like K&N, HKS, etc. It helps to give a smoother power band up top.

Try the 2-step launch again, but don't let the clutch out quite so fast. But don't let it slip for too long either. It's a quick release, but not a drop. Good luck.

Well, put some leaded fuel in and see if it goes low 8. Then you'll know if it was knocking
