Whats wrong?

Okay I ran at the local 1/8th strip by my house.

Im running a stock block with mild cams and bolt ons and an FP Red.

My best time was an 8.6 at 88mph. Before on the stock turbo I was running 8.45 at around 75mph. My 60fts are around 1/2 second longer.

Is this just from my lag? Not having a stroker. Just want to know what you guys are running with the reds

What are you 60' times before and after the Red? Also what is your 2-step set at? that could be your problem right there if it's still around the stock setting.

My 2 step is stock, at 5,500rpms.

My 16G runs were pulling around 1.7 and th reds are 2.1.

Granted I am not the best drag racer and the car is set up for roadcourses.

It should still be running better then that I would think, even with the lag of the red. How do you change the 2 step? Does it have to be done through the ECU or is there another way of doing it?

You need a tactrix cable along with ecuflash. You should raise your 2 step to at least 6,000rpms.

your 2 step needs to be at 62 and you need to be shifting at 77-78 rpms.

edit - tire pressure also needs to be around 23 psi

tire pressure makes a HUGE difference. do 20-21 psi on all em. ride out the wheel spin if get it. it takes pratice to get the launch down. you definatly need a cable so you can adjust your 2-step. Im constantly adjusting mine for each track and each surface prep. some times im at as low as 4800 and some times im as high as 5800 depending on the surface at X track. your the only who can say what rpm works best. good luck and report back your results.

Bump it up gradually, like 1-2k at a time and see how it goes.

+1 for 6500rpm two step, low tire pressure, and ride the wheels spin.

I'm trapping 100mph in the 1/8th on my Red @ 29psi with 1.6 60'

Im on a stock block with a few miles on it so I only take it to 7,200rpms when I shift.

Im gonna try raising my rev limiter.

Why would I lower my tire pressure? I already have no wheelspin and if I do get wheel spin in 1st gear I run about .5 second faster.
