then i guess it's just me! everytime i dump the clutch, i get a loud THUMP, and the RPM drops to a mere idle and it bogs slowly off the line... what am i doing wrong?

Try slipping the clutch alittle more. It is bogging because you are letting go of the clutch too quickly.

slipping the clutch = burnt out clutch..... Just dont go out and put a 500+hp clutch in your car then go out dropping it... you will start breaking stuff.... ahem* mark

I used mild settings on the safc... only leaning it out to about 9% on the top.... And are you saying that I have an exhaust? Because im on the complete stock exhaust system.

wait wait wait... blitzbaster said he dumped the clutch at 6k to get that launch... and he doesn't recomend slipping...

but how can you dump an evo clutch? i've always slipped mine, and yes, i can smell it burning... spoolinevo8, you gotta read blitz's post about dumpin'... taht's what i'm wonderin about... are you saying i need to first dump the clutch, adn then slip it easily, or first slip it, and then dump it hard!

this is my launch procedures...

hold RPM at 5.5k with my clutch at it's midpoint, to where i can almost feel my car moving forward. at last yellow light, or upon launching, i'd slowly lift on the clutch, and as soon as i feel the car grippin and moving, i totally left off on the clutch, ala dump! had i just plain dumped at 5.5k, my car would sit for a second, and then snail it's way forward...

That technique is something very similiar to what I do. I have it down to the point where I can "feel" my launches almost consistently.

There is a certain point with the stock clutch where its very close to dumping, but its actually slipping very quickly, where it will launch pretty well, but it wont stink up, not unless the clutch itself is very worn out and cannot sustain the load.

I keep it between 6k and 6500, while blipping the clutch. Then when it is that last yellow light, I totally pull my foot off the clutch while flooring it. I dont slip it at all, that results in a burnt clutch.

To AWDevo8, internet tuned afc just means I used other peoples posts about their settings, and put richer settings on mine.

Heh I dont think the rmr clutch was ment for 500+hp, but has obviously proved to harsh on the drivetrain for a 6k dump with only a few mods to the car. It was fun while only lasting a week. Now im waiting for a front diff to be put in my car. BTW I have the same mods as blitzbaster but would only reccomend dumping if you have the stock clutch.
