right foot to the floor
left big toe on the clutch pedal (let it bounce off of the rev limiter)
let left big toe move off of clutch

Instead of taking my opinion try to search for launch or go to the drag race forumn

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS FOR RACING ONLY. THIS IS VERY HARD ON YOUR CAR

This method is really hard on your clutch but will get you a great time.

You rev the motor to 6500 RPM (spool up turbo), let it drop to 4000 rpm, STEP ON THE GAS and let go of the clutch at 5500 RPM. You need to learn the timming of the car because it may bog or the turbo may not spool up if you don't rev it right. The RPM point at which you disengage your clutch is very important as well.

If you do this right your car will launch really fast and you will be in second gear very fast. Very good launches set off windshield wipers haha.

This is very hard on the stock clutch. The clutch is made to be the first part to break because it is the cheapest to repair of the drivetrain.

HAHAHHAHA yea

Which is why I gave a proper disclaimer stating that these methods are hard on your drivetrain and for racing only.
The clutch is fine guys. The problem is you need to do an insane launch to get the crazy 0-60 and 1/4 times.

Yes I have replaced a clutch on my EVO.

Keep in mind you will eventually break the tranny with a good clutch! I always launch mine at around 7000. It goes off the line like a bat out of hell. For those with mostly stock cars it might not be as bad. I have a OS twin , Cams, Tuned computer etc.... Mine broke one night and it broke everything Transfer case, gears, and all. Although unlike the ****ty service you all get from Mitsu over there. My car was a little over 2 years old with all those mods and then some and Mitsu changed everthing for FREE. The Japanese take care of their customers. Although 2 weeks later I got hit by some lady who ran an intersection which cost 1.6 million to fix. I guess I lost out on that one in the end!

no I wont be posting that... I know the evo is not a 1/4 car... I road race in the silver state classic and nevada open road challenge there are almost no import cars out there and I'm changing that... I brought my 350z out there in september, and I'm bringin this in May... also we want to get into more of a true road race... Big Bend in texas nice long mountain road in speed brackets... should think the EVO will do good there... also my sponsor will be making parts for the car which means we will have to test them... and see what they do on the open road, track, dyno, and 1/4...

I got a 1.77 60' with a 6500 rpm launch. You have to slip the clutch really quick, almost like dropping it to really get a good launch. I've tried all sorts of different rpms and 6500 worked out best. Anything under 5500 rpms I usually bog. 5700-5800 usually results in 1.8-1.9 60'. My evo is stock except for the DynoFlash. Of course, any hard launch will be hard on your drivetrain. If you want to play you gotta pay.
