Yes, Mike is going to be testing a new tire for them, he may already have them. This is a special tire, still in testing that Tom wanted on a fast car. Details will remain very-very quiet until positive results can be 100% confirmed.

I have a set of standard drag radials on there way to me now. The actual slick tire will be sometime in January from the looks of things still.

There are going to be TWO bad *** tires that are optimal for our cars, one a drag radial and then the slick. Depending on Mike's testing there could be a third tire.

Also, as long as the cat got out of the bag. We are an M&H dealer and if there is anything you guys need, please let us quote it.
will these tires be up on your site for purchase also will you be posting pics of the standard drag radials dave.

Here's some even better news for many of you. How about a wrinkle wall drag radial in 26x8.75x17" tire? How freaking sweet is that? That is going to really change the game for the classes requiring drag radials! I have a set coming, I'm hoping to be able to test them, this late in the year in Ohio though may be tough. I can loan them to someone else fast in a warmer area though!

BTW, we will be a dealer for all this and offering the tires. First time we have ventured into tire sales.
I would be willing to test them out here in Socal since the track is open year round. I cut a 1.40 60' on the Hoosier drag radials and a 1.47 on BFG's. Send me a PM if you to chat about it.

Yes, we are going to post whatever tires are relevant to the EVO as soon as they are available.

I didn't want the information out yet, especially in this thread. This thread should be locked actually as this particular tire is DEAD.

I wanted to get the tires tested, make sure they aren't axle breakers like the Hoosiers and then release a kick *** product in a new thread.

Once the tires are tested, getting them shouldn't be a problem at all and we will be selling them.

You don't need to reserve a set, you will be able to get them.

Be nice Dave. No product bashing... especially not on Hoosier.

I'm not bashing, the tire sidewall is too stiff on the radial and breaks axles like it's their job. It's not a good drag tire for the EVO, period.

R/T, come on now, we've been doing well playing nice. I didn't say anything about the 60' times, I said they break axles and t-cases because it is a poor design for a drag tire.

Whatever, everyone please go out and buy the magic Hoosier Drag Radial as fast as you can! Please call myself or AWDMotorsports for replacement axles and transfer cases, we both have a few for sale.

i ran the hoosier DR's last year.. they work, but i agree with david they are HARD on your drivetrain.. they are now sitting in my basement on my stock wheels still, i now run FD wheels with QTP's.

i absolutely exploded my diff inside my t-case. needless to say dan @ buschur had to rebuild my t-case .

I know Billy @ ER has murdered a few transfer cases with the Hoosier DRs... so I can agree with your statement, and I agree that your new slick will be an improvement.

I'm still being nice.

The list is huge actually from the Hoosiers. I think they would be a great tire to run in Mexico with some slip, but on a prepped track not so much.

I believe his total carnage was 3 cases and 4 transmissions. Transmissions werent so much the tires as he was "enthusiastic" on the shifts. Of course any bind on the gears when you go to yard it out of gear whether from spinning or hooking can also lead to synchro damage.

Never did waste any axles though.

On another note, the M&H slick are what we run on Jeff's car pulling 1.25s with the suspension and launch dialed for the track, what the Little auto uses (as the street tire even) to run low 10s and 1.39-1.42 60' times.

I have seen the results of the Hoosier drag radials and was tempted to try them, but maaaan have I heard some horror stories regarding how abusive they are on the driveline. Be nice to have a solution in 17" that doesn't destroy the driveline.
