I hear you on the weight. My spacers without the studs are 1.25 lbs so its not too bad. I may make a run with and another without them in the back and see if it makes any difference.

I also went with aluminum lugs which shaved 2 more pounds.

After trying out a set of RX7 FD wheels, I wasn't happy with the way they fit and how they looked.
tsk tsk, screw how it looks, have you tried launching on the rx7 n qtp combo?

you will not find a better combo on the street/track!!! i would post a vid but is not allowed.

still in for other 16" alternative wheels.

these weren't on the stock brembo/calipers if i recall correctly

With the Slipstream being a lighter than the FD wheel, I think its a better choice since you don't have to worry about used wheels being bent or cracked. The FD wheels also stick out more in the front. Still a good choice if you can find them cheap enough.

I thought this shot was kind of cool since it got the word "Quick" on the tire.

rodent, can you list what you paid & specs on your setup? offset, widths, spacers, spacer thickness, etc.

sorry read page 3 and got that info. Thanks for sharing.

does anyone daily drive these setups? I really like the look and I'm making good power that I'd like to go to the strip with a few times a year. but I don't want a drag only wheel setup. does anyone use these for a summer street/drag combo and what size/brand tires r u running.

I run 295/30/18 R888's on the street. They're about as radical as I'd like to go. I leave the Hoosiers for the actual track.

yeah that's y I asked if anyone runs the wheel size on the street. I like the small wheels and fat tire look, looks more muscular to me. but I don't know what street tire I could run on them. qtp obviously not a street tire.

Yeah no problem Ernie. I should put it on the first post.

16x7 +40 Rota Slipstream wheels (13.75 lbs each)
22mm spacers front, 20mm rear (1.25 lbs each, hub centric, rear is optional)
Hoosier QTP slicks 26x9.5x16 (white lettering removed, 16 lbs each)
ARP 3" extended studs

If you roll your fenders in the back, 25mm rear spacer is possible.
Edit: After looking at the front lug nuts, I'm almost maxed out on thread so 22mm spacer might be the most you could run with the ARP's.

Cost:
$818 shipped for the tires from Summit
$550 shipped for the wheels at local Discount Tire plus tax
You can probably find the wheels cheaper online.
$150 shipped for all 4 hub centric spacers on ebay
$120 shipped for the ARP studs on ebay

You can find a decent 16" drag radial that hooks up and is nice on the street like a 255/50/16 that BFG offers. That size equals 26x10x16

For street, I'm running the 17" Kumho Ecsta XS and they hook pretty nice with the HP I'm at.

Thanks! D2 Coilovers with the AWD Motorsports spec'd springs. Its parked on a slight slope and I may need to lower the front a tad.

Car actually drives pretty nice with the QTP's.

I may do some 16" snow tires now.
