Found out mustang wheels weigh 17.5 lbs.

Another option- Rota 16" wheels:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/dr...ck-brakes.html
(requires spacers)

Got my new Hoosiers today. On an accurate scale they only weigh 16.3 lbs. On their site they state 18lbs.

17431- 26x 9.50-16LT

For now, went with the 16x8 RX7 FD non-reinforced wheels that actually weigh 14.7 lbs (not 13.8). Only paid $200 for all 4 wheels. Along with the 2 lb 20mm spacer, that puts the front wheel / tire setup at 33 lbs each and 31 lbs each for the rear.

I know the RX7 wheel fits with 20mm spacers on the front but it would be nice to find a wheel where no spacers are needed. I know CCW makes a set that DB ran but those are WAY pricey. Any other suggestions for a 16" wheel that will fit?

Few links I found on 16" wheels
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-rims-evo.html

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/dr...fd-wheels.html

And yeah, I know about the MT moto slicks and the new 17" slicks coming out but it may be awhile before we see those.

Speaking of motorcycle slicks, anyone still running those? Any issues?
Rodent - Do you think Enkei model RPF1 in either 16x7 +30 or 16x7 +25 would be a wiser choice due to weight and offset? The idea of trying one of these wheels seems tempting. I would lean towards the 16x7 +25 to see if it would work with Hoosier QTPs but I'm not sure if the offset is too much which may cause clearance issues.

You're right! The +25 would be ideal since the outside edge would be the same as the stock Evo wheels. Plus they're only 13.7lbs.

Stock wheels are +38 offset, 8" wide.

The biggest concern is if they would clear the front brakes without a spacer.

Update-
Ordered some Enkei RPFI 16x7 +30 wheels. These will stick in 5mm more than factory wheels which is .2". I just pray they clear the calipers without spacers. If not, I may have to run 5mm spacers which isn't bad and will still look flush and not rub.

I tried to order the +25 wheels but they had to produce a set from Japan factory and ship them. I was told 45 days! Screw that.

Should have the new wheels end of this week.

Do you know the weight of the wheel?

Wow. That's light. If they fit and we can get a +25 and no spacers needed application then I think a group buy should be feasible. The wait time would suck but for a rim that light and no spacers its worth it.

How much per wheel was it if you don't mind me asking.

They were a little pricey. 205 each shipped. Discount Tire. If I ordered the ones from Japan, +25, still no shipping charge.

The 16x7 Rota Slipstreams are the next best thing IMO but they do require a 22mm spacer. If you go with 4 spacers thats $160 on top the $550 price tag so the total is $710. When you add the spacers, the price is not too far from the RPF1 price plus you end up with more wheel weight from the spacers.

After trying out a set of RX7 FD wheels, I wasn't happy with the way they fit and how they looked.

So did you end up running the Enkeis?

I'd like to see them if you did.

Well crap! The RPF1 wheel did not fit over the caliper. The barrel was too small and hit the top of the caliper. I measured the FD wheel and it has a 14.25" barrel while the RPF1 only had 14" since it slopes down in that area. Discount took the wheels back and just ordered the Rota Slipstreams.

With the 20mm spacer, the 16x7 +40 Rota's will stick out 5mm which isn't bad.

Wish they would have fit!

i like the rota gt3, the slip streams and the r-spec if i can find out if the gte or r-spec will fit over the stock caliper like the slip streams do with the same offset i will be picking a set of them up

The R-spec and Subzero looks promising since it gives you more front caliper clearance. From what I can tell, the R-spec seems to neck down in the barrel design in the pictures.

The other wheels such as the GT3 are heavier. Keep in mind a 20mm spacer will add 2lbs to each wheel.

16x7 Rota Slipstreams = 13.5lb
16x7 Rota R-spec = 14.5
16x7 Rota Subzero = 14.5
16x7 Rota Grid = 15 lbs
16x7 Rota Circuit 8 = 15.5
16x7 Rota GT3's = 17 lbs
16x7 Rota MSR = 17.2

BTW- The 16x7 +30 RPF1 came in at 14.25 lbs on an accurate scale.

What about a 16x8 Slipstream with a 20+ offset?

If I do a 16" Hooser QTP setup, I really would like 16x8" wheels.
