Cool,
Sorry I wasn't saying your traps seemed low, I misunderstood what you were trying to say about the 149mph traps on the slip. That makes sense now. Some times I wonder if I even read things or just skim over them and let my mind wander.

Have you thought about trying the GSC S3's?

Haha no problem man. I dunno what I'm going to do. I do know I will be putting the kelfords back in until I can get some money together for some other cams. I was thinking about the kelford 280's and the s3's. The BF272s are causing too many issues, mostly at higher RPM and no lift shift. Before the no lift shift was nice and smooth, now it tosses 4 foot fire ***** out of the tail pipe and loads up causing the ignition to break up once back into gear.
Sure wish I had some center line specs on these damn things so I can move the cam gears around.
I just don't think the BF272's are going to work well with my setup, not to mention an unported head, I'm sure the cams are really restricting the head now.
Now that I know the wideband sensor is shot, I think there is room for more power with the kelfords. Time will tell, I think I will put the kelfords back in tomorrow night.

BTW, for everyone reading this, I am in no way saying the BF272 cams suck, cause they don't. There just not working for my setup, I think I got other issues going on that is causing my problems, the BF272's just showed the problems while the kelfords did not. So please everyone don't think I am down talking the BF272's, cause they are some bad *** cams!

Very nice and congrats man, it shows it doesn't take all the money in the world to build a fast streetcar.

I drive it about 30-50 miles a day! So it get's abused on a daily basis After all, it is my daily driver!

The clutch on the other hand, after modding the hubs on my clutch disc, I'm able to get around 20k miles out of the disc before they start to slip. There's I a thread i posted here awhile back on that.

^^thanks man, Appreciate the kind words.

On a side note, put the kelford 272 cams back in tonight, problem solved, revs clean all the way to 8800rpm. Not sure what was going on with the BF 272 cams but I "could" have been running into valve float. Who knows. I guess i will stick with what worked... For now that is

well, I took the turd to a new dyno that just opened up here, not exactly sure how accurate it is since I don't have another dyno close by to compare to. This is a dynocom awd dyno. No corrections at all, says I made 817whp and 598wtq.
They didn't have the printer hooked up yet so I don't have a dyno plot to show, they said they will print it for me once they get the printer hooked up and get some more of the small bugs worked out of the dyno.
Anyway, here is a quick video of the pull.

Thanks man, ya it's pretty fun. Looking at the graph while I was at the dyno it's pretty cool to see the tq come on way earlier then the hp curve does. Hell at 3500rpm it was making over 350wtq The stroker is a blast on the street

I'm pulling the head this week and putting on a ported head with bronze guides and oversized valves. Should be interesting to see how it reacts. My stock head the stock POS valve guides love to break the tips off and go through the motor. I had a very small chunk of a valve guide sitting in my intake manifold plenum just chillin there ready to pounce my piston tops You ever seen a stock guide on evo's do this? I know of 3 people that have had the stock guides come apart and go through the motor turning the piston and head surface to hamburger.
After looking at the stock guides, they look like they are powered metal cast type guides? Really poor design IMHO

Stock Evo guides are like 20 apiece and its not just that Mitsubishi is proud of them, they work. We havent had any issues with them flaking off/cracking like that though. I wonder if that head had been rebuilt at some point in its life? I have only ever seen them break with bent valves.

Interesting. I dunno, I might have had some valve float when I was testing on those BF 272 cams a month ago, it might have caused some issues. Who knows. Kinda weird how the bf 272 cams came from a buddy of mine and with those cams in his car a valve guide tip in the runner broke off and went through his motor. And now after I ran them last month I have a valve guide tip chilling in my intake manifold The car still runs just as it always does, no problems and compression showed good. So the broken guide didn't make it through the valve seat and into the cylinder. It bounced back up into the intake manifold.

I think I got lucky cause the drag version JMF intake manifold has that HUGE plenum and it was just sitting in the bottom of the plenum. So that kinda saved my *** from that piece going through the motor.
Looking at the broken piece, it does look like powdered metal cast type guide. It looks weak to me, almost like the same material used for the front open diffs on our cars.

I will have to snap some close up pics of the broken piece and post it.
