Boostin Performance's "Red Demon" Shop Drag Car
#32
UPDATE:
Last week we brought the Red Demon out for the second time this season, and headed up to Great Lakes Dragway in Wisconsin to work on getting her dialed in for the DSM/Evo Shootout in about a week.
The car was consistant, and we were really pleased with how well she performed. Unfortunately the boards at GLD haven't been working for a while now so we didn't know Devin's time right away.
The first pass of the night, Devin ran a 9.00 at 144mph, having to let off early. You can hear him letting off about a second before he passes the line. Here's the video of that pass -

The next pass, Devin ran a 8.9 at 166mph with a 1.5 60 ft!!

We are heading back to GLD tomorrow, so we'll keep everyone updated on the results.

It looks like he'd already finished the 1/4 before the limiter hit, though. You can see the win light come on maybe a half second before the chute comes out. Also, you want to try to accelerate into the chute or it can unsettle the car sometimes. 160 MPH is not a good time to unsettle a car.

UPDATE:
We put the FP3794 on the car for shootout. On the FP3586 we made 787hp on the mustang dyno. With the FP3794 we squeezed out 833hp. Over 7K rpm the FP3794 blows the FP3586 away! At 9K, we are up around 70 hp over the FP3586. With the car trapping 166mph on the 3586, I'm hopin to see 170+ mph traps at the shootout with the 3794.
We got the car to the track on the 3794 for the first time last Thursday. With a 1.5 60 ft, we went 8.94 @ 158. I hit 170 mph and the 9600 rpm limiter well before the line so I coasted to a 158 mph trap speed.
I cant wait to make some clean passes @ shootout and show everyone what the "Red Demon" and Boostin Performance can really do! See you guys there!

I added some fuel when I put the sequential ignition on like Craig suggested, and the 4G63 used every bit of it. Trap speeds went from 163 to 166mph just from the ignition! The only problem I ran into was the fact that the 2G Series 1 AEM EMS's don't have 4 coil drivers. I had to convert the car to use a Evo 8 AEM EMS, but with those kind of results it was diffenently worth it.

Congrats that's quite a bit of an improvement. Glad your real world testing also verified what we suggested 'needing to add more fuel'
This car should be a real good contender at the shootout. Good luck Boostin Performance!! That's some big mph..so if you didn't have everyone's attention before you sure do now
