21st ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT
Me and a couple of guys from NH are making plans as you read this. May not be able to get rooms right near the track, but we will find one somewhere.
After driving 13 hours out there, it won't hurt to find a hotel room 20 mins away

We have added a class for GTR's to the event! I've continually tried to keep the event growing and it has. With us moving into some GTR modifications and parts, the fact it's bad *** and AWD I think adding the cars to the event will be a great way to keep the event growing and around for another 20 years!
They aren't racing against the DSM/EVO's it's a separate class. Correct, going to do what I have to do for the business and the event. If I had never let EVO's in the event the event would have failed and gone away by now. Same with the test and tune I added, the autocross, the Max Effort etc.
Yes, so to clarify:
The last two years have had GTR's among many other vehicles racing in the Test and Tune class. Last year we had about 6 GTR's in T-N-T.
This year the GTR's will get ONE single class to run against EACH OTHER. They will NOT mix with the DSM's/EVO's this year or ever in the future. So the only real change is instead of running in Test and Tune they can now race against each other. Brings in cars, shops, sponsors and cool fast cars to watch go down the track.
One draw of this event is the relaxed safety rules, think about not wanting to put a roll bar into your $30,000 4 door EVO and then think about welding one into a 2 door, small back seat, $100,000+ GTR.

Unfortunately i have yet to be able to make it to a SO so i know my opinion is pretty much useless but i don't see an issue with them having their own class so long as there is time to get them down the track w/o too many breaking that could eat some time for the other DSM/EVO classes..........but i honestly haven't seen a whole lot of them break catastrophically.....at least not yet......plus how many do you guys actually expect this year maybe 10-15 max going down in pairs so what 5-8 passes to get them all in there that shouldn't be a big issue right?
GL with keeping the SO going strong Dave!

I was reading a lot of stuff about no one really liking GT-Rs being apart of the DSM/EVO Shootout and to be honest, it doesn't bother me one bit. Those cars are amazing, the more of them the better. It will help the event grow even more then it has in the past years. Like stated, there were about 6 or 7 GT-R's there last year so might as well make them a class to race in. Only issue I will have with them there, is seeing all of them will make me want one even more
Looking forward to August and seeing everyone again!

If you think you want one from looking at them.....spend a week tuning one and then make a pass so easy your granny could do it and see how you feel! It's all I can do to NOT buy one!
Lol if I were to drive one, then that would really be it then. I would want one I'm sure. Someday hopefully I get a chance to drive and own one. The more I see of them and what they do, its amazing those cars.

And everyone bi*ching about GTRs at the Shootout...Look at the TX2K events...they USED to be the Supra Nationals....far from it now...GTR Nationals, haha...
