Yeah give us an update no matter what the results are

I raced an older M3 back when I had a 1991 MR2 Turbo that probably ran low 13s at the time. MR2s can launch very well, and I took him off the line and held that distance the rest of the way, maybe even pulling another car length or so. We raced up to about 90-100 mph probably, not a real long race, but we were on the streets in like a 45 zone, and I was a stupid 19 year old at the time

It was actually pretty funny - the guy that I raced was very european and his english was not the best. He said at the light "you got turbo!??" when i said yeah he responded with "I got M POWER, I RACE YOU!!" hahaha

If hes modded, esp if hes turbo, you're screwed, but if its reliativly stock you should have him. Make him pop his hood, these motors are VERY popular with turbo people in europe, this one make over 1000hp and runs under 10 sec

No one has ever swaped a S54(new M3) motor into a e36 that I know of. Fly-by wire throttle and stuff is too complicated when you keep in mind the Evo(ironic name) e36 M3 made 321HP in europe
OMG!!!! IF ITS A MOTOR LIKE THIS YOU HAVE A SNOW BALL CHANCE IN HELL.

If it's really a 3.6L, it's an M5 engine. The second generation (1991-1995) E34 M5 was a 3.6 liter BMW M Power inline 6 with individual throttle bodies for each cylinder. Stock was 310 HP, so 340 HP is definitely possible. The E36 M3 engines were 3.0 and 3.2 liters.

This is just another "I am gonna race this guy in a ******" thread, which 98.7% of the time never happens. If I were a betting man I would put $500 on the race never taking place.

e36 with v8 motor? He'll just spin all day long.

i have seen the v8 M5 engine in an E46 M3 and things were super tight, especially at the intake box near the firewall. I don't think it would fit into the E36.

For the last time it is not an 8 cylinder. It an inline-6 from more or less the early 90's. But others are right in that the 3.6 had 310hp and the later euro only 3.8 had 340.

FWIW I saw a German TV show testing the new M5 V10 and it was awesome. Stomped an Audi RS6 PLUS. Very cool. Ugly, but very cool.

get a NX kit....for like what $479...
and win back your money.....or raise the bar and put $1000 on the line.
a 50 wet shot would give u the win for sure.
