brake boosting...?

i just recently heard the term BRAKE BOOSTING, and was wondering what exactly it is? i searched but did not find... i use LEFT FOOT BREAKING to keep the car balanced and the turbo spooling in turns/corners, and i am thinking that BRAKE BOOSTING is similar, that it is meant to get the turbo to spool faster or keep it spooling or something on straights like when LEFT FOOT BRAKING for turns/corners, but i am not totally sure. if anyone can help, thanx

the brake booster reduces the pedal effort by using engine vacuum on one side of a diaphram to assist in pedal travel.

LFB will keep the turbo spooled up and give you more torque on corner exit.

the two are completely different...

I also hear a lot about people using this on the street to spool up before a ..... from a roll. As they pull side by side, the brake is used to hold speed, load the engine, and spool it up prior to go time...

1. go to the best gear for whatever mph you are gonna race from

2. while still on the gas gently press the brake pedal, you'll want to press it hard enough
that it starts slowing you down. But to keep from slowing down you apply more throttle.

3. The harder you ride your brakes the more load you put on your enigine. the more load you put on your engine the more boost you will build. (keep an eye on your gauge)

4. And as soon as you are ready to start go WOT and at the same time release the brakes, and that lovely sensation of boost is already there waiting for you rather than you waiting for it.

The key is to find just the right anount of preassure to apply on each pedal but that becomes very easy with a little pratice.

Yep, you'll take off pretty damn fast with 20PSI already spooled.

I've tried it a few times and with the stock 16G it doesn't really make much of a difference. The stock turbo already spools up pretty quick. If you have a big turbo though it has a much more noticeable effect.

brake boosting is hardest on your clutch disc, the brakes can take it.
