I just bought the qm twin disk and was wondering is it easy to launch.

wow welcome to a few years ago...song is old...im sure there has to be another one to quote....

but im am going to try the whole launching thing tonight at the 1/8 mile and see what happens....wish me luck

that is the vid of me at the track few days ago and i am still trying to perfect my launch it takes alot of time and practice

 

Launching with the two step is cake.

 

2 step and if you want to launch 110% perfect slip the clutch a little...

 

It takes a little practice, I sucked so bad at it at first. But a friend showed me how and I got really good at it. He wasn't good with vocabulary so in his words he told me, "Push the clutch pedal all the way down, then mash the gas pedal! Now slowly lift off the clutch until you start to feel it move. Then once it's moving let it go!" He told me how to do this when we were at the track, I was running high 13s. After he told me this bit of advice I got a 12.4, I tried to do it again but only got a 12.6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2QvJ6JqKy8 The clutch takes a beating launching though, so I bought a new twin plate.

 

It's even easier to launch than stock!

Anyways....2 Step and twin disk FTW!!!!

 

my x seems a little different from my 9 so with the x use the two step and then what???? move the clutch until it moves and then let go??

 

I have an x aswell, just plain "slipping" does the trick. Also seems to work best at around 5500 rpm. Just like ElDiablo79 metioned...."slowly lift off the clutch until you start to feel it move. Then once it's moving let it go". Hope that helps.

Also would like to mention. I know someone who double clutched it and i think dumped from a really high rev.....and his brand new car is in for service lol
