I drive an auto. I have found that when launching off it does better and goes faster by putting in in L, with the power breaking. Right as you take off **** into 2 and let it ride and simply just speed shift all the way through. It isnt really that hard to do but it will take a little practice believe it or not. If you dont take off right you can mess up your car. Just be carful and its easy

I also own an auto Lancer. I bought it over the manual because driving my truck for up to 10 hours in a day with a manual tranny did nothing more than **** me off. I wish I had bought a manual Lancer I really miss the control of the manual. So I came up with a backup plan. I'm keeping my auto lancer gonna do what I can to it , make it look nice and enjoy the ride. I have a relative that works for an insurance company and I'm waiting and hoping to buy a wrecked out manual Lancer to toy with. Wrecked out and salvaged vehicles seem to be a good source of incredibly cheap cars to mod and do other stuff with. A friend of mine just picked up a salvaged 01 Yukon for under 4k so I think I should be able to get an 02 Lancer for around the same price. I'm sure there is a flaw in my plan I just havent noticed yet.

you can shift an automatic start at the bottom work to drive. dont neutral drop it. alot of people do that not knowin, im sure you do. are you rallyin it or straight shootin? if rally leave in drive and just slightly tap brakes to bring front down goin around corners... then E-Brake... works like a charm. thats what i do with my P1 justy turbo.
