Improper way to drive an evo!

GTA races were pretty much rained out at Autbahn last season. I paid for the track day so I figured I'd learn to slide the car. These are my goofs.

I love your steering wheel and shifter knob, what kind of shift knob is that? Impresive driving

next time when you start sliding put your feet on the brake and try to ride on it or pulse it to get a feel of it, but leave the throttle input as it is at that moment. The slide is easy to control with brake rather throttle with an awd platform in slippery conditions. ABS definitely a not help here.
Just a technique to try if you wish.
The steering input also kind of steppy, i like to keep my hands on the wheel as much as possible and try to keep the left hand on the wheel spoke to feel the rubber on the ground.
As soon as you start stepping on the wheel you loosing feel and touch, so for me is related to the less feel = less control. I rather X my hands but not let the steering wheel go.

what i mean is actually you can see it after the 4.20 minute mark.

i just try to tell my opinion or my "style" , it is far from being "the example one", but for me works, so maybe worth to try it.

In my defense I was driving like that all day and only goofed twice. The first one I held the throttle too long and when I let off the car snapped. The second one was like hitting ice (very unexpected). Anyway, it was a lot of fun and autobahn is a good place to do that. Plenty of runoff and smooth grass!

Awesome! That's one way to test the limits in wet conditions. Enjoyable video.

Thanks. I definitely have more confidence now when the car gets unsettled.

When I do HPDE I do have track insurance, but, in this video I was screwing around where there was plenty of safe runoff.

First in car video where you are looking over your shoulder.. I was expecting to see a wall come into play. Awesome there is a track with open fields beside it (for guys like you haha)

Koodo's for making the best of it! Looks like a blast.

I highly recommend it if you can find a place to do it safely. I have almost an hours worth of video of controled slides, but, this is way more fun to watch.

Yah unfortunately in cali we have tracks with runoff, but it's bumpy *** dirt. My last excursion ripped the lip off and took a bunch of other things with it.

I know what you mean. I did that at Pocono and lost my 1st splitter. Autobahn was a perfect place to screw up!
