I have had my car flashed by another tuner for 8 months now with no mbc and 19.5 psi solid no taper.

Question for Ben@Ecutek

Hello Ben,

So, the factory ECU has a built in closed loop boost controller scheme. What does it use for the feedback sensor. Does it use the MAP sensor for feeback??

Also, why does the load percentage go higher than 100%, is that due to the positive boost pressure?

Brian

"I have included the desired boost map and the turbo dynamics map.

The dynamics is a "boost error" map, so if the boost gets higher or lower
than the desired boost level it will add or remove WG duty accordingly.

We did not invent those; they have always been in the ECU...

I will also go back on the thread and explain more in details if there is a
demand.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information

Regards

Ben Dagenais"

I think it'sclosed loop at partial throttle and open loop at WOT. Closed loop should use the O2 sensor in addition to the MAP sensor - but I'm only guessing on that one.

Sorry for the late reply,

The ECU only use the MAF for Engine load and does not know what is the actual boost level.
Cheers,

The boost level is derived from a complex mathematical calculation based upon the engine rpms and load. There is a map sesnor but it does not perform that function.

Good job for getting a handle on the "boost control" & not charging an arm & a leg for it Al.

Has this been tested this on a totally stock 05 and put it on a dyno? I would like to see what kind of gains this made with the reflash and the boost control for only $199.00.

Here is a link to a thread with such a dyno sheet I just did last week
