Forge MBC install and use notes

The unit comes with a light spring installed which is only good for 20 - 22 psi

In most cases on pump gas you can just turn it down all the way with the light spring and hold a really nice 21 psi

For more boost the heavy spring comes with it

Go directly off the turbo discharge to the MBC and then back to the wastegate with your hoses - I suggest NOT going off the bov as that can result in the bov opening slightly as the MBC actuates

So far its been a 100% success in every evo i tired it in

Only problem I see is getting them in stock

Hey Al (or anybody that can help),
Are there some installation instructions for dummies somewhere? Hate to sound like a newb, but some pictures of the locations you mentioned would be helpful. I will be attempting the install as soon as my black mbc arrives.

I ordered the new Forge MBC as well. Hopefully it will be on the car when you come to Mooresville, NC in October. I purchased it based on Al's review of it.

Do you have any right now, or are you waiting on your next shipment?

this says install for the hallman, but every MBC is pretty much the same.

However, Al is suggesting running the boost source from the compressor housing. this is not how i currently am running mine.

Ok, first Al, thanks for the tune yesterday +30 whp = woohoo! Second, I was not there and a buddy drove my car to the dyno. You all noticed that the old MBC (bought and installed at Buschur) was not holding boost (?). A Forge unit was installed. . I was not there for the spring change instruction. Anyone or Al have more info. about changing the spring? I haven't even driven the car yet. Can't wait! Thanks again.

I'm in the same situation. I'm t-ing off the bov source which comes from the manifold. Can someone who have the stock lower pipe with the nipple try this and let us know if there's a difference. If there is I need to drill a hole on the upper intercooler pipe to use that vaccum on the Forge MBC that I end up buying at BR

THat could explain why my forge RS bov flutters at partial boost.

I have not update the old thread yet but I did the back to back setup on my car this weekend and I am not pleased. I have my controller mounted on the bolt that holds the front of the air box down. I had it before with the pressure source from the BOV line and it would spike about .5 psi from 18.5 then fall immediately to 18 then by redline it would fall to 17 and be bouncing all over when it got there. Not good and I am blaming the BOV tapping for this initially. I then moved the boost source to the turbo outlet nipple and I now get a 2psi spike 19 psi falling to 17, but atleast now it will hold 17 all the way to redline and does not bounce around. The lines are about 24 inches long and 1/8" I.D.

Two install notes, use the stiff spring, the soft one is useless and annoying for how much you have to turn it to get a couple PSI rise. Also make sure that you put a light lube on the nipples otherwise good luck getting the hoses on.

One note to make, I adjusted the wastegate actuater 2 turns tighter a while back to attempt to kill the spiking with the other controller I had. So that is a possible cause of my persuing spike issues. Also I never tried any different BOV springs in my Forge BOV.

Your car is perfect with the way it is set it holds 21.5 and falls to 19 at red line

No need to change the spring unless you are running more boost on race gas

UI would try preesure testing your car to look for leaks

What was the other MBC you were using >?

I have found from trail and error that the more preload on the actuator, the more spike you get.
You need just enough to keep the flapper shut tight, but no more.
