Difference between Dynoflash and Ecutek?
Difference between Dynoflash and Ecutek?
i was wondering if one has an advantage over the other? since the ecutek costs quite a bit more, im curious to know if its worth spending the extra money? please post helpful info. thanks!
the ecutek allows full timing control as well as several other features that dynoflash does not offer. the reason it is so much more is because the software is licensed and not just anybody can use it. correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically - the equipment I use with Dyno Flash is a open ended code editing softwear which allows me the ability to adjust anything I can figure out how to adjust in any manner I want
There are advantages and disadvantages of this system
The real draw back is the limited support from the manufactuerer and other tuners as everyone is working in secret to figure things out and keeps all dsicoveries to theselves
On my Dyno Flash for Evo VIII's I have the following
Full Fuel maps, and ignition maps control
On Board boost control
rev limter
fuel cut
top speed
dwell adjustment
idle smoothing
The ECUTEK has all of those PLUS
injetor offset function
two step rev limiter
ECUTEK has tha advantage that the company is very skilled and experienced and they lay out the maps and parameters for the dealers to use. There is no searching and testing - its like s stand alone system. They have promised to add more and more tunable parameters over time - however as for the Evo VIII there is not much of a difference between the two products at this time.
Ecutek gets you a larger network of authorized tuners and support
Dyno Flash gets you a lower initial cost
As for the EVO IX
THERE IS NO DYNO FLASH
I am ONLY TUNING ECUTEK at this time on EVO IX
The ECUTEK IX flash kicks major *** - its a great product - a bit more costly but worth every penny
I love the ECUTEK IX flash
I hope that helps answer the original question
I wish the company I work with made the ECU for MIT so that I can give you guys the ECU memory map showing exactly where in EEPROM or ROM each calibration or function is store. We only manufacture the ECU for honda accord and will be doing it for the VIPER
. It's not my department though.
Good luck with the ECUtek and keep up the good tuning.

Is it possible to get your Ecutek EVO 9 tune without sending the ECU?
I live overseas (Istanbul, Turkey) and own a JDM EVO IX.
As far as fuel goes, we get the equivalent of 92 octane (r+m/2) octane here (tested average values where I get my fuel RON=98, MON=86.5). Once I figure out how I can get my car mapped, I will get full exhaust with decat + walbro FP fitted.
I would like to get a dynoflash tune, provided it will work in my JDM car provided I will not have to send my ECU over to the States.
For info: the tuning shop I will get my parts also is a Ecutek dealer. Also, the parts will consist of HKS downpipe + HKS test pipe + HKS Silent Hi-Power + Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
I would appreciate it if you could let me know the feasibility of getting a tune. Also will you feel comfortable providing a map for an overseas car as there might be some variances in the code and fuel?
Kind Regards, Can
