Warrtalon and two step testing

Finally, an opportunity to really test the two step feature out thanks to Warrtalon who's MR I tuned today

I simply can not test out something like this on a customer's car

I was sitting in the back seat while Warrtalon tested the new two step and it was perfect - it made two very impressive laucnes right off the bat

When some people start going to the track with this two step - I predict that we will see some amazing results

I was pleased by the way to see that the mail in or base flash i had installed in Warrtalon's car a few weeks ago was near ideal and that with a few small corrections it was just about perfect

I don't think the tuning will make him any faster than he was so any gains that he gets at the track will prob be from the two step alone

Probably not. No interest being shown, and I'm extremely happy with the car as it is. I may just end up going with the stock IX turbo, cams, and alky down the road. I was only going to sell my MR if I received the asking price and if I was able to get a IX MR at invoice. Neither was very likely, but it was worth trying.

I love the 2-step and can't wait to use it!

no dyno - road tune - .48 g's with two guys in car - not bad for a car without cams on pump gas

I cannot help but to laugh. Warrtalon is the perfect example of how the tuning bug can nip even experienced "modders"(for lack of a better term) right in the a$$! What ever happened to keeping it stock appearing!?!?!?

Not to flame you or anything, I am going through the same thing as you but I didn't even think of selling my car for the 9.

Back on topic, I think for the MR 5300-5400 RPM's would be perfect for the launch if you are making decent power but its all dependant on your torque curve I guess. Looks like Warrtalon will be tearing up the track this year now the tuning bug nipped him and he has some sponsorship. Congrats my friend

Well, not quite. I still am clinging to the minimalistic approach while appearing stock. The whole IX/cams/alky thing is just my ultimate goal and mod path, but it's nothing I'll be doing anytime soon. I was only interested in getting the IX for next year's race season - mainly road racing and autocrossing. I wanted the additional power while still having minimal mods in addition to the improved low-end/mid-range torque, which is very important in those racing venues. I'll still be drag racing some, but the real fun is on the road course.

Anyway, ask Al what my car looked like. Other than the full coating of snow dust and salt (dirty biyatch), there's nothing visible other than my exhaust tip and steering column podded boost gauge. I like it that way and will keep it as such as long as I can.

I will try to get to the dyno in the next month or so. I'll probably setup another Dyno Day like I always do so that I can see where I am. Before this road tune, I just had the base flash and ran the 12.26 on pump gas. I don't really expect to be FASTER now in the 1/4-mile, but the entire powerbands in 3rd and 4th are now smooth and linear without hiccups, so daily driving is pure joy.

You finally see where all the fun is to be had ... straight line is a show of power, fast-times around a course is a display of driver skill ...

Au contraire, my friend. I did as much in the twisties as I did on the drag strip this year, but you just don't see me talk about that as much, because there's no concrete times to share that would have any meaning to anyone not at the race. Also, drag racing is much, MUCH more than a show of power. I accomplish much more with much less power, and that's due to skill. Same thing on the road course...power is an enabler, but it's useless without skill. The Z06, Lotus Elise, Shelby Cobra replica, and S/C Cobra all learned that the hard way when I did my first-ever road racing event - owned them like little bltches, haha.

I just happened to pick 6050 from my past practice when my car was more stock

I can adjust it anywhere from 3,000 - 7,800 upon request

When Warrtalon gets to the track and gives some feedback I may make adjustments

I was pleased with the testing today and the data logs show the set point is in the range of where it should be
