It is amazing how fast people are willing to come to sweeping conclusions on this site. All this negative attention lately is due to one customer out of thousands. As far as I know, no one knows exactly what caused that engine to blow.
I admire Al for searching for ways to increase the reliability of his customer cars. Does it cover his *** to do this, sure...... but it also covers his customers collective asses.

I think Al already mentioned it was due to disappointing results.

Wow, if the mods let you get away with that statement, you must have really been doing something good to them.

But I think its a good idea for Al to make this a requirement for MBCs and such.

Why would someone not get an upgraded fuel pump? It's like sky diving without a back up parachute.

A lof of people getting into the hobby may not fully appreciate the importance of this important factor and how it can provide extra saftey at a very reasonable price

Back to the subject at hand...
I know it was just stated that a pump will not require a reflash. However on the Dynoflash website it says adding a fuel pump does require a reflash. I also think I remember seeing some dyno charts that showed adding a fuel pump without a specific fuel pump flash caused some power losses?
Please clarify the issue.

If you add a fuel pump - without a tune - it will go about 1/2 point richer and you will loose a small amount of power

IMHO its better to be safe and rich at the expense of a few whp

of course a pump and a custom tune is the best option
