Will a base flash increase the knock level at which timing is retarded?

Im currently running flashless and my car sometimes runs slower for no reason when my Forge MBC spikes a little high. The car runs very smooth but sometimes when the boost is set to 1.3bar and I shift fast I spike 1.55, hence killing my timing. I know the reason it's doing this is because my open element filter.

I was curious if the level of knock at which timing is retarded is increased on a base flash?

thx

NO NO and NO

I do NOT touch the factory knock control which is the main reason why I have nearly 3000 evos out there running my tunes with no known incendents of tuning related engine failure

Through adjusting the fuel and timing I can get your car to run knock free and make more power

The open air filter runs the car too lean in the mid range which triggers knock

Let me know if you have any other questions

Thx,

I figured to leave a margin of safety you would keep it low but I had to know. Whats it stock? 1 volt?

I can tell just by driving that the open filter is whats making it slow(when it is slow), just trying to decide if im gonna spend 200 on a new PnP harness for my ECU+ or get a temp. base flash.

Thanks
