Removing the ecu is easy - its behind the glove box door - just always remove the - batt terminal before you unplug anything

They are quite robust so you can send it in anything but I recomend a plastic bag inside the box to prevent spills from hurting it

I do have a flash for your mods

I would recomend the K & N panel filter

Call me if you have any more questions

BTW your down time is short i get them back out by fed ex the same day i get them

Hey Al, this morning I ran with a Camaro. I bogged the launch, but was gaining on him when we had to slow down I guess the dynoflash does work quite well.... Anyway, I'm thinking of buying the Buschur exhaust and possibly later get the HKS intake. Do you think my tune will extract the benefits from these mods? Oh yeah, the car seems to be running better with Amoco Supreme (it's a ***** finding that gasoline... I know now why I used that QT crap, it's everywhere, sooo convenient ).

Based on what we saw with my car and others, do you think it might be good to warn any possible customer of the mail flash to make absolutely sure that they have only the best gasoline available in their car? Man, I'd hate to be the guy who got a car like mine in California........

If you make any major changes you will need to send it back in for a upgrade - I provide one free upgarde for guys who got the flash in person

As for the gas - if you leave the knock correction feature in place like we do a bad load of gas will only take away performance - the ecu will quickly pull timing to adjust for the bad gas - a great system if you ask me !

Congrats on beating the camaro

So if I were to get a personal tuning session and decided I want to get more parts...you will tune it through the mail for free (one time only)? But wouldn't it be harder to further tune it through the mail with the new parts?

I can't speak for Al, but I believe that he has my particular map and he also has lots of experience with the tweaks for certain parts such as the Buschur exhaust and HKS intakes.... I believe he can modify my particular tune to take advantage of these mods..... Of course, I'd be better off with another custom street tune after the mods are done..... Is this right Al?

What if I buy your mail-in reflash now, but when you come to Chicago in the spring, I spring for the street tune? Would I be entitled to a discount? I'm planning on adding some goodies, hopefully right before you arrive.

Hey Al, is your dynoflash strictly for EVO cars or can the tuning be donw for any type of ECU? The reason I ask is that I know there are a lot of these tuning options coming to the market recently, and had a question. As you can tell from my Signature, I will be taking poession of a Lotus Elise probably around June of next year. It runs a toyota 1.8 liter engine, and comes stock with 187 hp. I will definatly be tuning it. Periond. I have to admit that I have contacted VISHNU and am 99% sure that I will be going with them as they are going to offer 2 tuning options, a NA tune and a light pressure Turbo tune. I will stay NA (due to the 11.5 to 1 compression ratio!) If for some reason i change my mind, can you tune this other manufacture's ECU? I am aware that there are other issues like 1, you are unfarmiliar with the engine, 2, might not be able to break into the Lotus. Toyota enginem just to name a few. Just wanted to get your thoughts, and see if you had reflashed other makes than the EVO. Appreciate the response.

Thanks for the inquiry - the lotus sure looks like it will be a great little car and we appreciate the input. However - I have NO plan to touch ANY other car than Evos. My plan is to get so deep into Evos and learn so much about them that anytime someone needs to know ANYTHING about them from front to back they can call me. I figure by specalizing in ONE car and for now ONE product - I can reach unheard levels of performance and reliability. So far I am very pleased working on Evos and owning one and I can honestly say that every day I learn a new angle on getting power out of these wonderful machines.

BTW our reflash machine has the capability to do WRX and 350 Z's - however - I have discovered that the 350 Z is a royal pain in the *** to reflash due to a nasty self learning ecu and a 15 minute load time per change and as most people know I am totally sick of SlowBArus and prob will never touch one again

BTW - right now i am concentrating on getting my car ready for some snow action - putting on a cat and detuning it for some decent low end power and quiet operation through the cold winter months. I considered parking it for the winter - but I could not be without my Evo that long and figured there could be no better car to get through any snow we may see.

Good luck with the lotus - I think shiv will prob make some good stuff for that car it seems like his kind of car.

Al - Another interesting Tadashi story: He is the one that got the final tune for your beloved 350Z ECU... The master at work.

Can't wait to see you again here in the DC area. Happy Holidays.

Unlike the safc which only adjusts the maf signal - we rewrite the base ignition and timing maps which results in a much smoother tune and an ability to even out the power band - in most cases making a lot more low end trq and spool up in the low end while making the stop end much smoother due to avoidance of adding too much ign timing as the safc will cause

We also get you a higher rev limit and can remove your fuel cut - finally we can reduce the boost taper

here is a classic sheet i have posted many times which is the same car same day before with the SFAC and after with the dyno flash

Thanks for the heads up AL. Good luck with the EVO, but you have to admit, eventually you shoud consider diversifying your tuning abilities. I agree that the Lotus market will probably be too small, but also think of COBB, who to this day, after about a year of discontinuing their APS systems, still has only developed a mail order ECU reflash, and a CAT BACk system. Pitiful if you ask me. Hell, even their employees drive around with their APS systems still in their cars. Best of luck. You need to get a website, and start yout marketing campaign. You can set one up for like 10 dolars a month, and with frint page and a little FLASH prgramming, have something to be proud of. Later man.
