Anyone switched from Meth to E85?

If so, would you do it again? There are now several E85 stations in my area and I've been contemplating making the switch. I've been hesitant to even use the meth as it has no failsafe (bought the car with the kit). The thought of simply filling up and running the same amount of boost as I would be on meth is enticing; I would just be worried about running low on E85 and being in an area where none is readily available.

Making the assumption you have an AEM, running out shouldn't be an issue. Just have a map for gasoline and a map for E85 and if you run low just switch maps.

There are only 3 stations in my whole state (2 in the local area). I just don't go out of range and if I run low I just bring more back in a fuel can with my commuter ride.

I am going to assume you dont have AEM. I am in the same predicament now too. Although I am also entertaining the idea of running 110. I would switch to E85 if I was on an AEM. 1. I dont want to buy an AEM. 2. I dont want to buy another fuel pump/injectors/fuel lines/etc. 3. I love the smell of 110 lol.
If you feel like you might have a problem running out of fuel maybe keep a 5 gallon container at home and bring it with if you might get to running out. Your boost level should be about the same switching from meth to E.

Just use Tephra v5 with a switch, have a tune for premium and a tune for E85

Yes I am currently on the stock ECU. I've already got a Walbro pump and I am running an IX turbo so I believe I would just need injectors to make the switch.

I will probably be doing the same thing as merkzu. My only question is won't the tune be slightly off as you would probably end up with a slight mixture of E85 and 93 octane (assuming you don't siphon the remaining out lol)?

It does a little bit. The first tank I switch on will be a little bit off, then the second tank of the same fuel will be good.. Hasn't caused me problems yet but I guess it could if you left too much of the other fuel in the tank. Could always watch the wideband and knockcel for a pull after switching to make sure it's ok if you are worried about it
