My FIC 1050s give a stock quality idle with E85. Idle is a bit choppier than stock on pump gas. I just took a look at the SARDs. Their website says that fuel rail mods are needed to user their injectors. Not sure how true that is. They appear to be using Denso injectors. No mention of any custom design or modification.

Here is a link to their injectors and part numbers. I wil ltry to call them today. You will note they list 1000 cc low impedance in both 1 and 2 hole design.

I'm using RC Engineering 1000cc injectors and they idle just fine on 91 octane or E85. The only hitch i have is that the engine slightly hesitates at cold startup.

If you want to make your idle smoother, then run more timing in the top left hand corner of your timing map. Try 10-12*. This will make it smoother. also try and increase your idle speed by about 25-50 rpms. That should help. I am running RC 1000 cc injectors and more timing at idle smooth the idle nicely.

Sorry it's late but thanks I will try more timing as currently it is 6-8 range only at idle

I think that is pretty much normal, due to the less explosive nature of E85.

I wonder if one of those plug-in ignition amplifier modules would help any? Or perhaps a coil-on-plug set-up?

Has anyone running E85 done any ignition upgrades?

Its the lack of atomization at cooler temps. Would be interesting to compare the factory ignition to an aftermarket. Seems that the only aftermarket ignition worth buying is $1000 though.

Taking 1-2 tries to startup the car is just a minor annoyance. I don't think its worth the $$ to spend on any sort of ignition upgrade, unless you're having mis-firing issues.

When doing research a while back it is noteworthy that a lot of the aftermarket e85 conversions have temp sensors and when cold they squirt more fuel to aid in cold starts this is not a ignition issue based on that.

I upped timing a couple degrees but need to do more I went plus 2 which put me to 8 i believe

Thanks for the replies

Here are the 2 hole injectors I'm such an airhead.......

http://www.powerenterpriseusa.net/pr...ctor/index.htm

The design looks promising it is too bad these are so expensive. Need fuel rail with these also I believe.

I called SARD USA and they are supposed to call Japan and find out about EVO specific big injectors but I have not heard back from them
