E95 What is the verdict.

If this is in the wrong spot mods please move. Thanks

I've searched and didnt find any posts on here so I figured I'd start my own thread. I am wanting to get rid of my meth injection and go with E85. I dont trust the inconsistent mixes at gas stations. Is E95 safe to run in the evo like e85. Does anyone here run it. I am going to buy it in 55 gallon drums.
This is one of the sites I found:
http://www.hyperfuels.com/storename/...-10017096.aspx

So what are the pros and cons?
Does anyone here run it?

Thanks for any info

Might have some cold starting issues with that high of an ethanol content. Do you have a tuner in the area that is proficient with E85?

I was thinking the same thing with the cold starts. Based on his signature and location I dont think he will have any issues with the tune.

I like the idea of buying large drums to keep things consistent. The price is quite affordable also however I wonder how much shipping adds to the price? This seems like a great idea for people like me who are not blessed with E85 in the area.

To get the list started here are a couple quick pros and cons:
-More power
-More consistent than buying at the pump
-Convenience of having it at your house

-Less range
-Cold starts could be tough
-Could potentially be dangerous to store if not careful

We run E98 is our race car, I have nothing but good things to say about it in regards to performance and detonation resistance. However, if you live in a colder climate start up may be tough for your tuner to iron out, also you need one hell of a fuel system to support this stuff!

What do you mean by hell of a fuel system, What do you recommend. I am going to upgrade injectors and fuel pump (double pumper) or add a bosch 044 inline. I havent talked to chris at AMS or Kunizee but one of them will be my tuner. They both work magic.

+1^ it requires very large injectors and for lack of a better term, big fuel system. for example, my 350z is going to be using e85 (850-900rwhp+), im running an sp triple 255lph setup w/ 1200cc injectors. e85 requires alot more fuel than conventional unleaded gas. i can imagine e95/98 would require even more

shipping will probably be in the $100 range. typically these types of things are shipped freight, which isnt too bad. If I recall correctly when I last had a 55 gallon drum delivered it was around $125 or so. Also, be certain to clarify with the company if the delivery address needs to have a loading dock....sometimes the shippers require this, sometimes not.

Yes, just think about the mixture. E-85 on average needs 30% more fuel than stock to run in our conventional gasoline engines. So if you up the percentage to E-98 you will roughly need 35% more fuel to run it.

Plan on a double pumper, 1200ccs at least, unless you have a sizable turbo, then I would up it to 2000s, a large fuel rail to keep up with this fuel demand and probably either an in cabin or under the hood fuel pressure regulator (gauge) to keep an eye to make sure the pressure is sufficient from the pumps.

The tuner is going to have a rough time with cold winter start ups, especially up in Illinois, as E-98 is pretty detonation resistant. 108-115 RON. Either way, you definitely have some competent tuners up in that region and I am sure someone can help you out.

E-85/98 is the way to go, truly magical stuff.

FYI the linked E95 is cut with methanol NOT gasoline. That means it's gonna eat stuff just like meth does. Buyer beware.

You can always cut it with 91- 93 oct that you purchase from a gas station...or make your own.

I think he wanted to keep it at the E-98. Seeing that methanol line was a good catch. They do make E-98 with gasoline, you should look for that instead.

i didnt see the part about cutting with meth not gas thanks. I was planning 1450s or maybe bigger. I have a 3076 on stock bottom end right now. I have had meth for 2 years so i am familiar with it but Ive seen larger torque increases with e85. My only fear is I've recently been hearing horror stories of clogged injections and then motor failure. Some tell me stay with meth, others tell me scrap the meth and go e85, anyway back on topic with the e95. I have a local compant VSI in hammond, IN who can get it also bradley speed and sport in bradley illinois. So i can pick it up with my truck. thanks for the input.

Or mix it with VP Q16 or Import like some of the shops that run "E85" in there race cars
