#2 - Their injectors don't exhibit some of the pitfalls especially seen with PTE 1200cc and larger injectors such as hard starts and fueling on decel that I've witnessed first hand.
That's why all us at Mellon Racing removed the PTE and went to FIC

FIC does make the low z or low impedance bluemax series and believe they are based on the rochester design then they tweak them for better performance whenever possible/necessary. Up to 1450cc work well on the EVO 7-9 but I did try the 1650cc which aren't designed for our 14v system and they were rough at idle/cruise with pump gas and good at wot. With e85 they worked good in all aspects because they were kept a little busier due to fuel demand.
FIC also makes a line of high z or high impedance injectors which are based on the bosche design. These are superior to all before mentioned models but do have a few caveats to be aware of.
1. they require splicing or plug and play adapters on some evo models (not a big deal or expense)
2. they do not work with oxygenated fuels like q16 but work great on regular race gas, pump gas and e85
I'll send you a pm

yeah I ran the PTE 1000 for a long time and didn't have problems with them. Once we tried the PTE 1200 there was a major change. They went from spraying through maybe 6 or 8 pinhole sized nostrils to 3 huge ones on the 1200's and it just didn't work well for us.

Mine are just a pain in the *** when doing warm starts. I bought them used with about 1k miles or so from Gary. I would love to do E85 but we only have 1 local station that carries it. Good thing its one that i use occasionally. But i think i rather have more options just in case. It seems easier to stick with 93 for now.
Im debating on whether to stick with 93 and drop down to 880 (or similar) or go with the FIC 1200 for whenever i go e85

when you go e85 you're going to need a lot more injector just to make the same power as pump. So if you intend on making more power with e85 you'll need more injector for sure.

I have been running the FIC 1100 CC High-Z injectors since switching over to E85 roughly 8 months ago. As mentioned by Mellon, there was some splicing that had to be done with the stock control box, but not a big deal and took less than 10 minutes. I have been extremely happy with these injectors both on the occasional tank of 93 octane and E85.

we carry an inexpensive plug and adapters that keeps you from needing to splice anything to run high z injectors, this makes it a truly plug and play install like normal low z injectors.
