Limit on number of cells that can be copied and pasted?

I was playing around with ECUflash yesterday and copied the maps into Excel to modify.

When it came time to copy the maps back over to Ecuflash, they wouldn't paste over.

I would hit CTRL + C in excel and then tried both selecting all the cells or selecting just the top left cell - and then going to the Edit button, to select Paste.

I had to manually enter the values for all the cells...really tedious and time consuming...never mind error prone.

I know you can copy from 1 bin file to another, because that is what I do. Not sure if there is a limit

From inside the program, the copy-paste feature works fine, I never tried it in Excel, but I suspect copied cells from Excel are in a format the ECUFlash program doesn't handle preventing you from pasting..

I had the same issue. I could copy/paste within ECU Flash and copy out of ECU Flash into Excel, but couldn't paste from Excel into ECU Flash. :-/

Here's a quick work around..

Open a copy of notepad, take the cells you altered in Excel, paste them in notepad, then copy it again from notepad to ECUFlash..

For some reason the clipboard flags the data as a particular type of data when you copy from excel, pasting it to notepad then copying it again from notepad to ECUFlash will remove that formatting info and leave it in a format thats the same as the proggie.

I notice my maps once pasted have some 4 digit decimals like 10.4533. is this because of the hex and do I need to use that as opposed to 10.5 or 10.4

I noticed that too...I highly doubt that it would make a significant difference but I used them to the 10 thousandths.

The scaling definition rounds the numbers in the display, Just round off the numbers and don't be concerned passed the hundreths..
