Some good datalogging information

Was browsing around and found this info on the web, thought it would be helpful to see definitions of some of the items we are messing with and grasp and idea of what they mean.

Alright, I took a quick peek at the doc, and there are a couple of things that I'd like to point out that I disagree with, or that I don't think apply to our ECU:

1.) I don't think the Evo ECU has the ability to advance timing, especially not on a knock sum of 1-3.
2.) The O2 sensor should not be used to tune your AFR, not even as a rough guideline. See this article: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources/news3.php

Mainly I was just pointing out the definitions, all the other info could possibly not relate to our ecu

Yeah, I just wanted to point out things that don't seem to apply, so that newbies don't get the wrong idea.

What about the knock sum range of 0 to 43? Does this relate to our ECU?

I ask because I can tap a wire from pin 78 (knock Sensor) and connect it to oneof the LMA-2 open ports. The knock sensor reads voltage from 0-5v. If 0v=0 knock sum and 5v=43 knock sum, then it is possible to configure Logworks ro read knock counts.

But I need to make sure that this is the knock sum range on our ECU.

I think DSM's had the range of 0 to 43 so I assume the EVO does too because that is the highest value knock sum can read afterwards the ecu says ***it nothing I can do about your sh itty map lol..Actually though the information I posted is regarding the TMO Logger I think which is for the DSM guys, So I assume all that information is similar to our cars since it is the same motor.
