P0300?

I just recieved my cable in the mail today. Thanks to everyone on this board I have been able to learn my way around this great product. (Luda gets an A+ for his rescale write up) Now on to my question....could I just get a ROM with a P0300 fix and transfer my custom Flash numbers into it, then flash it into my ECU? I just dont want to go to the dealer and have my mods noticed just in case something does go wrong and I have to RE-stock my EVO

There is a theory that the P0300 code is due to a harmonics problem with the stock flywheel. I truely believe that this was my problem since after I installed the ACT flywheel I have never had a P0300 code. I'm sure the flash will help, just dont expect a world of difference.

Do you have cams? And did you look at the snapshot data to see what RPM and throttle position it occurred at?

Yes I have cams and an exedy clutch, always happens from 2500-3200 rpm at 15%-25% throttle and to be honest I dont remember the load value, Ill get ECU+ to snap shot it again in the AM

It's not harmonics from the flywheel. I have the same flywheel and I still get the p0300 in the right weather (like just before it rains)

I see the same thing, every time I get the P0300, its in the same RPM range, with light throttle according to the DTC freeze frame data retreived from the ECU.

Thanks.

Did you register on the forums at openecu.org? If you're not registered, then you cannot see the attachments. I learned that one the hard way.

it's not a theory, it's the true. i know it from my own experience. i have spent over $ 300 dollars trying to narrow down the issue, after changing out my tranny with Shepard's Tranny, 6k on it no sign of a single p0300. if you look at the tranny on top right under the battery you can see the sensors that trigger the p0300.

I think what your getting is the same bug I have started seeing in the ECU+ firmware.. Under very low load, rolling around in first gear out of my parking garage at work, it triggers the code.. I have had cams and all my mods on my car for quite some time before the ECU+, Tom is working on a fix that may help if this is what your seeing.. I didn't start seeing it until recently, but noticed it happened a few times, now I can reproduce it any time I leave my garage at work.

Now, this may be totally unrelated since my exhaust system downpipe is making contact with my crossbar after the new turbo install, and I have always heard my downpipe clunk against that par as the engine shifted, only it never resulted in a P0300 code but Ihave had one occasion where I recall hearing the clunk around the same time the CEL light came on.

This is two possibilities for you to look at.

You should post in a different thread for that specific problem.. If its undefined then one of the contributors (Jason at Mynes has been doing many of them) will have to create a definition for it.. If the Rom is stock, you might want to post it in the OpenECU forums..
